BREAKING! “Freedom Fence” with Mexico is completed!!!
Edited on Thu Oct-26-06 03:21 PM by KansDem
"Halliburton finished it way ahead of schedule and for a measly $15 billion," says Vice-President Dick Cheney. "Who says 'corporatism' doesn't work?" mused the former Halliburton CEO, who went on to add, "'Free enterprise,' like the Freedom Fence, is all about being 'free!'"

Here are a few photos of the “Freedom Fence,” the Bush/Cheney legacy to US immigration policy:

Real security begins at Pacific Ocean, just south of sunny San Diego. Notice how the Freedom Fence actually descends into the water, making it nearly impossible for illegal immigrants to traverse from hopelessness and despair to that “beacon of hope:” the USA!

The Freedom Fence continues to protect the USA in the outlying areas of the Rocky Mountain southwest. Arizonans can now breathe easier knowing their state is safe from illegal immigrants seeking greener pastures!

"Get back!, get back!" is the message conveyed by the Freedom Fence as it winds its way though the flatlands of southeast New Mexico and southwest Texas. And that message is well heeded as evidenced by the absence of illegal immigrants in this photo...

Winding its way toward the Gulf of Mexico, the Freedom Fence continues to be a formidable obstacle to desperadoes seeking to cross the border. Residents of the Lone Star State will sleep peacefully at night knowing illegal immigrants will be kept out! The Freedom Fence gets a huge "Job well done!" and a tip of the ten-gallon hat from happy Texans!

Thanks to DUer Tiki’s post on Philosoraptor’s thread:
700 Mi. long 'Great Wall of America' to cost, oh, about 6 BILLION

4. What I don't understand is...
Why don't we just go in and annex Mexico? Why don't we finish the job we started back in 1845, when the United States annexed Texas, then started a war with Mexico and stole more than half of that country's territory? What happened to our sense of Manifest Destiny? Why did we cut and run?

If we eliminate Mexico as a threat to American jobs and the American economy, everything would get better. Right?

(Oh, and if it isn't obvious.... :sarcasm: :hi: )

18. I've seen pictures of the "Running Fence" but didn't visit
We (Wife and kids, 6 and 4 at the time) walked through all of the Central Park Gates installation on the Sunday Afternoon of Presidents' Day Weekend 2005. It was really a wonderful thing to go and experience with all the other folks there. Just another reason I love New York.

Running Fence artwork from 1977 than a security fence. Somehow it just doesn't look permanent. Peace, Kim

24. I was just about to say that.
I kind of like the way it looks. More like an art installation than a stupid, racist move.

I just can't fucking believe they're calling it the Freedom Fence. Boggles the fucking mind.

26. Auto airbag material...
airbags were almost mandated back in the seventies and the industry was caught sitting on a lot on inventory. Christo bought the material for a song.
