Rumsfeld to war critics: ‘Back off’

<snip>

Rumsfeld also said people ought to “just back off” and stop demanding specific benchmarks or timelines for progress in Iraq, saying it is just too difficult to predict when the Iraqis can take control of their country.

1. Neecy to Rumsfeld: Fuck Off
Our soldiers are dying and our tax dollars are being sunk into this corrupt hole and we're not allowed to ask our government when we might reasonably expect some progress?

Their arrogance knows no bounds.

6. he was all too happy to make predictions in 2002 and 2003....
"It could last six days, six weeks. I doubt six months," he said, speaking at the American air base at Aviano, in northern Italy.

7. Doesn't seem so hard to me.
I predict that the Iraqis will be able to take control of their country six months after the Republicans lose the white house, be that in '08, or god forbid '12 or '16.

We agree completely on this. This buffon thinks he is in charge of the people. He's just doing a temp job at the people's behest. Someone needs to hammer that point home to this idiot.

14. CNN's Starr's Anal-isis was Pathetic...
When asked about that blunt statement she shrugs it off with one of those "oh that Don" look...and how von Rumsfeldt only answers the questions he feels like answering in the way he wants to answer them and "we're just used to it".

:puke:

24. This is almost a freakin' laugh.
A War Criminal spouting crap like this. Almost a laugh but not quite. It is disgustingly pathetic.

Rumsfeld Shouldn't be Fired, He Should be Indicted
by Matthew Rothschild

“Secretary Rumsfeld has publicly admitted that . . . he ordered an Iraqi national held in Camp Cropper, a high security detention center in Iraq, to be kept off the prison’s rolls and not presented to the International Committee of the Red Cross,” the report noted. The Geneva Conventions require countries to grant the Red Cross access to all detainees. “

http://www.commondreams.org/views06/0418-24.htm

Recently it has been found out that even more detainees were "ghost detainees". The fact that Rumsfeld has not been charged speaks volumes. If Congress wishes to garner any respect they should move forward with Impeachment Declaration of Rumsfeld.
