I heard that Saddam Hussein will get either a verdict in his trial and or sentenced on November 5.

That means it comes 2 days before the election. Your views?

I also say the Democrats take 7 senate positions and 30 house positions. That appears what former Senator Daschle had said a few days ago.

OK, here you go. I guess we'll be able to pull our troops from Iraq then, right? I mean, regime change was the goal of the invasion of Iraq. And so now Bush will really be able to say "Mission Accomplished."

Of course, since the invasion everybody in the world, except a few right-wingers dwelling in La-La Land, realizes that the war on Iraq has nothing to do with fighting terrorism, and in fact has actually made the terrorists stronger and more numerous.

For the rest of us, the conviction of Saddam Hussein is a reminder of the Bush administration's failure to catch Osama bin Laden, and an exclamation point on the huge waste of resources and lives to go after an insignificant target.

So my response, and that of most Americans, will be "BFD."
