Anybody watch South Park last night?
No matter what, it seems this show always makes me laugh. Last night's episode was Satan throwing a Halloween party. But what struck me was that it was at the "W" Hotel - and "W" was pretty prominent. What is this "W" stuff? It reminds me of the old Iraq with Saddam all over the place, China, with their leader all over the place.

Anybody else thinking this? Its like subliminal.

1. there is a chain of hotels called "W"-when you see their signs on the hwy

it looks like the "W the Preznit" window sticker.

I expect the South Parkers are playing on that.

2. Have the blinders been thrown from the eyes of Matt and Trey?
They have always been "South Park Republicans", but much as I disagree with their shit (and much as most of it makes me laugh and I sometimes do agree with them) they have NEVER been full-blown Busheviks.

It is more than possible that is the case.

They have more than once "gone off the reservation" in ways a regular FOX News drone would never dream.

The Terry Schiavo show (BFF): Satan says "We'll use the Republicans. We always do."

So they are far from hardcore Busheviks, and that is not the only example. Do they bash Dems a LOT more than they bash the Busheviks? Yep.

You seem to think it might be borderline-subliminal, and now that you mention it, yes the 'W' hotel did slip past me until I read your post, but think about it. If true, is that a bad thing?

The subliminal connection being thus formed would be to Bush = Satan = a squealing spoiled rich teenaged girl. Ok by me (and more than a little bit true).

One flaw in my theory: the wristbands were blue and were torn off to let everyone inside at the happy ending.

Of course, the most likely possibility is that it's a fucking cartoon and we are both reading way too much into it.

4. Well I wasn't speaking of the "W"
just in regards to South Park. Some show recently, Ellen maybe, was giving away "W" robes and I've just started noticing the "W" signage - which is very similar to the "W" bumper stickers. I was beginning to wonder about this "W" thing anyway, and looks like South Park picked up on it too.

5. You think they bash Dems more?
I watch that show a lot and I just don't see it. I see them bashing stupid ideas - some of which are Dem supported. And true, Manbearpig did go over the edge (and I didn't even think it was that funny). But I see them just pretty much opposing anything that's "pop".

6. I have got more than a few examples
From the "Hate Crimes" episode: We'll just do it the Democratic Way and put you in jail.

From the "Fake Future Time Travellers Episode": We Ultra-Liberal Democrats believe in telling lies to get a more positive result. The ends justify the means. (the guy at Motivation Corp or whatevrer it is is explaining how it works to Randy and wife)

From the "Cartmann as General Lee" episode Yeah thanks Bill Clinton. Yeah, thanks...dick!

there's more, but you get the idea. No comparable level of direct 'Pug bashing. The line about satan saying they'll use the republicans is very rare.

7. It's a prominent (and expensive) chain of hotels, and has nothing to do with
GW Bush.
