GOP ads show desperation with FEAR and SMEAR
the FORD commercials, rush attacking MJ Fox, the "fear" ad, here in PA Santorum has a picture of Casey next to a mushroom cloud ( http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2006/10/25/181300.shtml ) and the list goes on

bush/rove are all "confident" of a GOP win - yet these ads show GOPers are really desperate

they can't run on IRAQ - in fact Frist tells them not to bring it up

they can try to run on 'security' - but that just brings up IRAQ

The Economy? well - who's economy? yeah, the DOW has broken a record - but for most of America there's no trickle from it

Prescription Drugs? Most who would benefit from it are now stuck in that big donut hole

Tax cuts? more cuts for the wealthy?

Gas prices have come down - but for how long? Winter is coming, and heating oil is higher than the gas at the pumps

Scaring people with booga-booga terror-terror isn't working anymore - they have cried "wolf" or played "the sky is falling" one too many times

all they have left is the SMEAR

1. Hell, in NJ, the Republicans are running an ad that basically says...
a vote for the democrats is a vote for the mob. Of course, this has backfired. The Italian outrage over the ad is front page news here.

2. They let 9/11 happen and still no Bin Laden. Oops!
They will become increasingly, obviously ugly as they are forced to greater and greater measures to hold what they've stolen. No one would vote for them based upon any account of the truth.

3. Sherwood / Santorum
Sherwood has been running the "please forgive me" ads- hasn't been working, then he had his wife out there saying "please forgive him", this was followed up with bush coming here and saying 'everyone makes mistakes'

This week Sherwood has sent out two mailers attacking Carney - both of them full of inaccuracies and misleads. One of them actually accuses Carney of starting the Iraq war because Carney worked for a small intel analysis department in the Pentagon. What Sherwood doesn't mention is that he (sherwood) voted for the war.

meanwhile Santorum is very confused. last week he warned us of the "eye of Mordor" turning it's attention on us, this week we're pre-WW2 Germany and the nazi's are coming.

Except for a fundy outrage stopping him - I wouldn't be surprised if next week he tells us Lord Voldemort has risen

4. And here is Massachusetts? Republican candidate Kerry Healey's
volunteers show up at Governor Democratic candidate Deval Patrick and his manager's house in orange jumpsuits with professionally printed signs saying "Inmates For Patrick" and begin to picket. . His campaign manager wasn't at his house but his 12 year old son was alone when these nuts show up to picket. Oh, this is one dirty year for Republicans.
