Left Coast & Late Night Folks! Why aren't we discussing thePress Conference?
Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 10:12 PM by omega minimo
There were some big threads this morning live. Tonight, after the news, NUTHIN.

Are we dumb? Distracted? What's missing? What's the deal?

1. Uh, George changed a phrase. Nothing else.
Not a damn thing to discuss.

5. So Why Aren't You Kicking One Of Those Threads Then?
Seems like it would be a fairly logical way to continue the discussion.

9. Hmmmmm. Personal Attack Instead Of Answering The Question.
Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 11:28 PM by OPERATIONMINDCRIME
I'm kind of used to seeing this from you.

Still think the question was valid though, even if you did choose to let it remain unanswered.

Here's a few more for ya. Why did you feel the need to start a thread attacking other DU'ers for not discussing the press conference, when you didn't even do so yourself, whether in the other existing threads on the conference or even this one you just started? You started a thread somewhat showing bitterness towards the lack of discussion, yet offered NO INSIGHT WHATSOEVER INTO THE PRESS CONFERENCE AT ALL WHILE DOING SO! Why was that? Do you not see the irony in that? Do you not see why the OP then comes off as disingenuous?

12. Nice Melodrama.

And again, only personal attack instead of responding to the substance.

It isn't harrassment to call out illogical statements while supplying logic to the rebuttal. The fact that you don't like being presented with logical rebuttal or legitimate complaints about your declarations also does not make it harrassment. Fact is, I posed some pretty legitimate questions to you. Maybe it would've been more effective if you could've answered them in a civil manner rather than once again only submitting attack.

I mean, am I wrong for questioning the premise of this thread in the ways that I had? Do my questions not hold water? Is it not even glaringly obvious in the irony right now how you started a thread attacking DU for not discussing the press conference, but even in your own thread doing so YOU haven't even discussed it? Not once? Anywhere? That doesn't strike you as odd? Am I wrong for feeling that if someone is going to post a thread attacking DU'ers and questioning their intelligence for not discussing something the poster wanted discussed, that the LEAST they could do is attempt to discuss it themselves?

Call those questions harrassment all you want, Omega. I think they're pretty solid questions.

7. Best line from Bush in the presser

"...that's why we're over there...to stop them from making progress"

very unintentional, but telling.

Once again George keeps talking in millitary terms about victory when everyone and his dog keeps repeating...it can't be won millitarily, it must be won politically.

Hey George, try keeping the lights on in Bagdad first, that might help win you some support.

--The man can't be that stupid, so yes, they must be keeping them in that mess on purpose, it's very convenient and profitable to keep the mess going...especially for private contractors owned by your friends and family.

What a scam

Praise Jeebus!

11. I dunno.
I guess I stopped giving a crap about what Bush says anymore a year ago.

13. Bush fatigue...but this quote jumped out at me:
If we do not defeat the terrorists or extremists in Iraq, they will gain access to vast oil reserves and use Iraq as a base to overthrow moderate governments across the broader Middle East.

FINALLY! Truthiness from our Dear Leader.
