Kerry raises $350K in 24hrs; campaigns for Lamont, Patrick and Menendez

Video:

Sen. John Kerry Rallies for Ned

Just wanted to put up a quick post thanking John Kerry for being pretty much the only major Democrat willing to be critical of Where's The Dough Joe and stand up to his threats to leave the party, repeatedly insult Democrats and promote the Republican agenda. Kerry is in East Hartford today appearing with Ned Lamont while others have thrown a big middle finger to the party's base by siding with their country club buddy and laughing while he shits on their heads. Kerry deserves some big netroots praise for his willingness to buck the Incumbency Protection Racket and listen to what Democratic voters are saying (as opposed to the Republican ones, who comprise the majority of Tortureman's supporters).

2. Outstanding! Now when is Bill Clinton going to come in
and do for Ned what he did for Joe in the primary?

15. I think they showed up early for Ned - for show - afterwards making public
appearances saying Dems are lucky to have EITHER win.

UH....that's not pushing Lamont as the best candidate - that's telling Dems it's OK to vote for Lieberman, he can be trusted.

4. Good for the goose?
Lamont needs to do something with his hair. It's tragic. Tragic, I say. He already looks like he's about 12, that hairdo makes him look like a 6 year old. For a man of his age and accomplishments, it's not a good look.

8. Thank you, John Kerry!
:bounce: This is great news! I was wondering when some big guns would make their way to CT. to help Lamont.

14. Why so many Dems treat Joe with kid gloves when he acts so heinously
is a mystery.

16. Personally, I believe, behind closed doors, they are hoping
Lieberman wins and if he does win, they don't want to be guilty of stepping on his toes by having campaigned for Lamont because they may NEED Lieberman if we don't win by a large enough margin. They should be OUTRAGED by his behavior. It's an embarrassment to the party....being a sore loser. The Democrats voted him OUT. Then we also have the issue of the repuke money flowing into the Lieberman campaign. How can the Dems TRUST that Lieberman WILL DO AS HE SAYS and caucus with THEM? How do the Dems know Lieberman hasn't made the same promise to the repukes in exchange for their money, support and votes?

22. It also shows disrespect for Dem primary voters who VOTED to put entire
weight of party influence to Ned Lamont.

The establishment Dems really screwed the pooch over this race.

26. My guess
They are probably quietly hoping for a Lamont win, since they don't like Lieby stabbing them in the back (like saying, "I like Bush's policy towards the Middle East better than Kerry's" a few weeks before the election!)

However, they are also afraid to speak out against Lieby since they figure they might have to work with him / caucus with him if he wins, and most polls have him ahead.

I think if Lamont was up in the polls, you'd see a lot more open support for Lamont.

28. They know they could help make it happen for Lamont if they wanted to.
All the pro-Joe nods are designed to HURT Ned. Period.

10. Isn't Patrick ahead by like 25 or 30 points?
Last I heard, Healey's little Willie Horton stunt was only helping her reach unheard-of Alan Keyes-like numbers in the high 20s. Why bring out the big guns there, even in Kerry's backyard?

12. A high-profile Democrat or the most unknown and anonymous should
want to be at a Deval Patrick rally.

Patrick is a hard-charging star in our party.

Kerry's right to show up. Patrick's right to welcome him.

Mittens Romney and Kerry Muffy Healey got onstage at the Repuke convention in 2004 to lie about and trash Kerry and they're from his own state - I think Kerry wants her to go down in FLAMES.

Besides, if he weren't, people would just be bitching about how Kerry wasn't supporting Patrick enough. :eyes: Not saying you'd be saying that, but you know some people would.

23. Kerry.....
.... is setting a wonderful example with this. These races, in an election year such as this, could easily come down to who has the $$$ to run the ads.

I hope more Dem. Senators pitch in.

25. For Lamont at this point, it's CRUCIAL that BIG Dems show support for him.
And not the armslength, don't want to step on Joe's toes type of support he's been getting.
