GOP insiders believe that Rove will leave after the first of the year

http://www.usnews.com/usnews/news/articles/061022/30whitehouse.htm

Could Be Exit Stage Left for the Architect

A big topic among White House insiders as the midterm elections approach is the fate of top political aide Karl Rove if the Republicans lose control of the House or Senate. The consensus is that Rove's image will suffer, big time. "He will be taken a lot less seriously," a senior Republican strategist and informal White House adviser says. Indeed, some insiders believe that Rove will leave after the first of the year. Rove was nicknamed "the architect" by President Bush because he built the winning strategy in the last two presidential elections. But his luster is dimming in the GOP as the party's prospects for the elections look more and more bleak while Bush stubbornly holds course.

3. I doubt that he will leave. He controls too much of Bush**'s "policies",
and Bush** owes him his presidency. Besides, who would tell Bush** what to say and what to do every day?

5. I agree with you. They're just trying to tidy up the party just
before the elections and they're just sweeping KKKarl under the rug. He's not really going out in the trash.

If there were any justice in the world (which if you look around THERE ISN'T) he'd be doing more than 'leaving'. It would involve a very high bail.

7. I think it will be before the first of next year
Perhaps even the end of October announce his resignation and he stays on till the end of election week. His service to Bush is over after Nov. 7th, no matter which way the chips fall.

It would also free him up to start working on strategy for the 2008 pick. Watch for the same M.O. and keep an eye out for Ms. Change the Perception of the US Ambassador rears her ugly head.

The Libby trial starts jury selection January 16th. This may have something to do with the "resignation".

He will be too busy to help lame duck Bush.

Or maybe Abramoff is spilling the beans on all the perks he gave Karl.
