Rawstory: Barron's editor predicts GOP will retain Congress
Story here

Analysis of campaign funds shows that GOP will lose seats in the House and Senate but will retain majority control of both, according to Barron's Washington Editor.

"Jubilant Democrats should reconsider their order for confetti and noisemakers," Jim McTague writes for Barron's magazine. "The Democrats, as widely reported, are expecting GOP-weary voters to flock to the polls in two weeks and hand them control of the House for the first time in 12 years -- and perhaps the Senate, as well."

"Even some Republicans privately confess that they are anticipating the election-day equivalent of Little Big Horn," the article continues. "Pardon our hubris, but we just don't see it."

According to Barron's analysis, which was "based on a race-by-race examination of campaign-finance data," all signs suggest "that the GOP will hang on to both chambers, at least nominally."

So - is this the first salvo in the prep to "manage" this election?

1. Two weeks out and it begins. Don't think for a second that these
criminals will not attempt to STEAL this election too.
We must turn out in DROVES; the only way I can imagine we'll thwart these assholes.
The numbers must be OVERWHELMING!

2. they believe money is the best metric. IMHO the bang for the buck
Edited on Mon Oct-23-06 11:04 AM by HereSince1628
is more important. Total money means nothing if spending it isn't bringing in more voters than the opponent (earnings). The GOP is working with a crummy looking multiple for the metric voters gained per dollar spent, because they are losing on every issue with perhaps one exception--their xenophobic approach to the border.

And let's not forget that the Foley scandel took away investors from the GOP without ANY expenditure on the part of Dems.

3. The Freeps have held an open circle jerk on this for the last week
It's all part of the PsyOps...just as Bush and Rove can't lose their happy face without demoralizing the "base," Jim McTague plays the role of Tokyo Rose and tells the Democrats that while they are in battle, their wives are back home screwing the milkman.

Check McTague's blue dress for evidence of Karl Rove DNA.

How transparent does transparent have to be before people recognize it as such?

The woman behind the voice and program that lightened the weary hours of many a G.I., Tokyo Rose. Her real name is Iva Toguri D'Aquino. She was born in Los Angeles, but claims to be Portugese by marriage. This includes a duplicate photo and negative. From: A scrapbook presented to Postmaster General Robert E. Hannegan on the occasion of his visit to General Headquarters, U.S.Army Forces, Pacific, in Tokyo, Japan, July, 1946.

8. Hmm... So how much money you spend determines an election?
Silly me, I thought it was how many votes one gets.
