Iraq Violence Leaves Six Soldiers, Four Marines Dead

Oct. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Six soldiers and four Marines were killed in Iraq in separate attacks, the U.S. Army said in e- mailed statements, making October the bloodiest month in the war since November 2004.

A soldier assigned to Multi-National Division - Baghdad was killed at about 5 p.m. yesterday when the vehicle he was in was hit by a roadside bomb in western Baghdad, the military said in a statement e-mailed from the capital today. Four more divisional soldiers died yesterday in three incidents and four Marines and another soldier died in fighting on Oct. 21.

October is proving to be a bloody month, with at least 81 military personnel killed in action, the highest monthly tally since November 2004, when 126 died. President George W. Bush conferred on Oct. 21 with his top Iraq commanders over strategy after a security clampdown by U.S. and Iraqi troops in Baghdad was met with a surge in sectarian violence.

2. Battle for Baghdad over: we lost.
Insurgent militias have defeated Operation Together Forward.

Iraqi government officials are making preparations for life in exile.

Plans for rapid departure are now being made ready to go.

Democrats will of course be blamed for this military catastrophe. The backlash cometh. We've seen this all before.

Mission Accomplished junior? 650,000 Iraqi dead? Was that the mission? Nearly 3,000 of our own, was that the mission? How's that farm in Paraguay? Lots of brush to clear there.
