I'll never forget Phil Gramm's grinning puss
that day in 1994 on Crossfire when he knew that the Rethugs had swept the Congress.

I've never forgotten that and look forward to grinning at them this time.

I hope...

1. what a piece of work he was
I worked for his 1990 opponent (a useless lifeform, but it would have been tough for anyone to challenge him).

We were the folks with the GRAMMSTANDING soundbites

Where's his wife? She disappeared too.

3. I'll always remember Al Franken's bit on him:
he talks about hearing Gramm say, doing Gramm's smarmy Texas accent as he recounted the experience....

"I have more guns than I need, but less guns than I want!"

5. Ooh, you just conjured that ickiest of images in my mind!
THANKS a LOT!

Now I gotta be seeing that in my mind's eye all day, intruding like a devil's or ghost's form I've seen on teevee I can't make go away later. I'll have to think of something to distract my thoughts from that, replace that image with something else, something PLEASANT! :)

But ya know, there are just some people -- not all of them politicians, though pols account for many of these sorts in our world -- whose very FACE just makes ya wanna cringe and go blind ... anything just not to have to SEE that mug more than absolutely necessary or impossible to avoid.

I'm pretty sure others here, like me, feel similarly and strongly about Chimpy's countenance, in fact, with his ability to morph into about 20 perfectly loathable images.

Hell, Swamp Rat and others who do creative graphic art using the dimwittiest Bu$h$on have half their work done for them already! Remember this one?

And like I said, it's bad even before ya do a thing to it.

Since I first began seeing his repulsive, smirking puss in a local newsrag or mag or on local teevee sports reports in Dallas, it's made me wanna :puke:. Unfortunately, he was part-owner of the Texas Rangers, which were "my" team for the three years I lived in Dallas (1994-97).

I've heard some say that "enterprise" of the Dimson's was MAYBE the ONLY one at which he succeeded to any degree whatsoever. Hard to say, don't know what decisions, if any, he made or how they affected the team while he was there.

But I'd liked the Rangers BEFORE Dumdum bought part interest in them; then I moved to Big-D and knew I'd love getting to see all their games on TV, so of course I'd hoped they'd have a good season and I'd be cheering them on. And that's exactly what happened in those years!

NOTE: This sort of diversion from life's serious worries and woes can really help me avoid depression, so let's don't give sports TOO short a shrift here at DU, okay? Sports can serve a very good purpose -- like re-energizing me for the serious battles we have to engage in, AND reminding me almost every week (but particularly this past one) that underdogs can surprise the hell outta even the experts and the mass opinion on any given day, turning the tables on teams that were once thought unbeatable.

I don't want to look for Gramm's ugly mug, but since I was searching my ugly file for Chimpy, I'll provide one more that sorta says it all about THAT one's face!

And that's another one that is absolutely UNretouched!

Oh geez, now I've replaced the Gramm image that was getting stuck in my mind's eye ... but with one of THAT horrendous sight! Ayieeeee~!! Help, help! ... I can't get away from them!.... :yoiks:

:puke: :grr:
