1. Optical Scan
in most of Oregon. I'd be happier if there were mandatory 2% hand recounts.

2. Same as last time
Osceola County Detail:

Voting Technology --- Optical Scan: Precinct-Based
Vendor -------------- Diebold Election Systems
Model --------------- AccuVote-ES2001B
Software ------------ 1.17.17
Firmware ------------ 1.94-w

The operative words: Diebold and Software

No one with the power to change things seems to appreciate the danger in its entirety, and so nothing changes. But although I never know what happens to my vote, I do it anyway...which is either the pinnacle of wishfulness or the depth of stupidity, I'll never know which.

4. I'm voting on an absentee ballot.
I'll never forget election day 2004. I walked into my polling place wearing my black hoodie and humming "I am a patriot." Then I saw the little Diebold emblem on the voting machine and felt kind of sick to my stomach. Never again.

6. I vote by mail.
Mark the ballot, mail it in. Since 1998, all elections are done by mail in Oregon.
