Bush & Rove know something that we don't...
I think we're all bracing for the worst, and this only bolsters those fears.

2. By going in LARGE numbers to vote.
Everyone has their guard up and they will be less likely to pull-off stealing elections that are not-that close.

They will get CAUGHT red handed this time.

Keep the faith! :hi:

16. Yeah, I'm with ya!
Maybe there's also something they don't know about us... Maybe one of our top computer geniuses has already devised a plan of finding them with their hands in the cookie jar. Wouldn't that be SWEEEEET!!!!

11. If the fix IS in, they really are gonna need God
There's been an undercurrent of anger bubbling just below the surface in this country ever since the 2000 election. This just might be the year when the shit really does hit the fan. I shudder to think what would happen when people take to the streets, and descend upon D.C.

This Administration has used the basic, law-abiding moral foundation that's ingrained in most Americans to their advantage for the past six years. That may change if this Administration is working behind the scenes with Diebold to rig up the voting process.

3. Yep.
And they're snickering over how excited we all are, thinking dems will get one, maybe both Houses of Congress, that the nightmare will soon be over. They live on other peoples' false hopes.

No word exists for this type of sadism.

4. what exactly do you think chimpy/rove would be doing at this point
Running around saying that all is lost? They're politicians. THey are trying to rally their base. They are trying to counter stories that suggest that they're fucked big time. DO you think that they're going to call in a bunch of reporters and say, "We're fucked."? I guarantee that in 1994, Bill Clinton didn't go around the country giving speeches saying that the Democrats were going to lose big.

Good grief.

6. It's called bravado
which they have way to much of. Their arrogance and bravado use to work for them, but it doesn't anymore. Now they just look delusional.

7. It's a bluff from Bush and Rove. You expect them to say that
they know the repukes will lose both houses of congress? Which would discourage more Republicans from voting and maybe even losing more seats then they are destined to already?

8. There's lot of things they don't know
like:

How to run a country

How to run a war

How to run natural disaster

How to run anti-terrorism

How to run the economy

How sick Americans are of their bullsh*t

9. Interesting. Focus on the headline, ignore the subhead. . .
even though the subhead is more in line with beliefs and attitudes the DU board has shared since, oh, 2001 . . .

10. Trust me, I didn't ignore the subhead
"Self-Assurance of Bush, Rove and Others Is Not Shared by Many in the Party"

I saw that, which is what grabbed my attention even more. No, I don't expect Bush & company to concede defeat, or to throw in the towel. I don't expect them to be making public doom & gloom statements. However, that article and countless polls clearly demonstrate that even many conservatives are worried about Democrats gaining control of the House, and pulling closer in the Senate.

It's almost as if Bush knows that the GOP will win big in November.

12. Watch the money flows to key campaigns - really.
Kind of like the futures market of politics -

The gop candidates are spread out about as thin as, say, our soldiers in Iraq are. And so is the money they will have available to fight. And what is happening (and will more and more) is monies they thought they could count on are shifting to the democrats. They get caught flat footed.

Dean's 50 state strategy was absolutely brilliant.

Joe

Of course they're gonna be upbeat! They're master liars, and the last thing they will do is give their base any reason to NOT vote, and give us a reason to be optimistic. Think about it.

17. My vote might count, but dammit I'm going to vote anyways!
I live in Florida, where they use those paperless electronic machines. I fully plan on voting anyways. Best let my voice be known than to be silent.
