TV is NOT The Truth, Even if You Think it Is
This classic speech from the movie Network is as relevant today as it was 30 years ago.

1. My TV is for concert and Harry Potter DVDs.
That's about as close to the truth as it get.

9. Me too!
Though I graduated so long ago, I fear admitting the year, for fear of disclosing my age (let's just say I was there for a championship and let it go at that).

4. Society of the Spectacle, such is TV
The fetishism of the commodity — the domination of society by "intangible as well as tangible things" — attains its ultimate fulfillment in the spectacle, where the real world is replaced by a selection of images which are projected above it, yet which at the same time succeed in making themselves regarded as the epitome of reality.
-- Guy Debord, Society of the Spectacle

6. That movie is so true ...
I remember this movie when I was growing up but never took the time to watch it and really listen. I remember the part about shouting out of the window and saying "I am as mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more." This should be posted on a lot of sites and recommended. Everything he was saying is being revealed today...
