Born on the 31st of October
Let's not let 'them' hijack or re-define the true meaning of Halloween, my birthday. They are trying really hard to make a religious war on Halloween, an ancient Holiday, far older than Christmas, but Christmas wasn't even called that, its just another hijacked holiday, stolen and re-defined by the Born again Borg.

When I was a kid in the fifties, I never ever heard anyone whine about how Christmas was being ruined by secular atheist commies, and it damn sure ain't being threatened now, but Halloween is. I don't ever remember any 'Christian Hell House Halloween' displays, although I'm sure they had them, a haunted house for trick or treaters to see what lies in hell for non believers.

They whine about the true meaning of Christmas being subverted, while calling my birthday a demonic day. They say Satan and Santa are the same. The winter solstice party had nothing to do whatsoever with Jesus, and Halloween has nothing whatsoever to do with Satan.

Both holidays have become monstrous money making machines, cranked up every year earlier and earlier. Why when I was a boy I dressed up in my moms old clothes and we didn't pay a dime for a costume and people used to scare the livin' bee Jesus out of us and weeeeee LIKED IT!

And when I was a boy we had a Christmas tree and we had a few lousy toys under it and we ripped into em' like starving animals and we didn't sit around talkin' about no Jesus and weeeeee LIKED THAT TOO!

So stay the hell away from my birthday and from Halloween, which didn't even used to be called that till some whacko religious stuffed robe came along and re-named it and subverted it and stole it from us in the first place!

Halloween is a night set aside for inviting the dearly departed back into the warmth of our homes for a drink and a meal with family, to welcome them around our hearth and talk with them and remember them and to carve up jack o lanterns and drink cider and dress up silly and go begging for cakes and treats so BACK OFF JERRY FOOLWELL.

And you do know, I'm sure, that 10/30 is referred to as devil's night.
But of course WE are always on the side of the angels! O8)

10. How are you feeling about 60? 47 is not bothering me too much, though
it's usually the odd numbers I have trouble with.

Piece of cake. Once I got over the trauma of turning thirty, all the rest were easy, breezy!

2. Me, too!
I'm glad to join you in the war against those who are messing up what is my birthday, too! I'm actually shunned by some 'people' who cast aspersions on the reason I was born on the devil's holiday.

And I can't stand having Halloween moved to a more convenient non-school night. Think we could move Christmas? Make Thanksgiving a Monday holiday?

We wore sheets on Halloween, and thought we were very frightening ghosts. My own child was too afraid to even wear silly socks to school because of what others would think.

8. The Last Will of Adolf Hitler, Died April 30, 1945, by his own hand
As I did not consider that I could take responsibility, during the years of struggle, of contracting a marriage, I have now decided, before the closing of my earthly career, to take as my wife that girl who, after many years of faithful friendship, entered, of her own free will, the practically besieged town in order to share her destiny with me. At her own desire she goes as my wife with me into death. It will compensate us for what we both lost through my work in the service of my people.

What I possess belongs - in so far as it has any value - to the Party. Should this no longer exist, to the State; should the State also be destroyed, no further decision of mine is necessary.

My paintings, in the collections which I have bought in the course of years, have never been collected for private purposes, but only for the extension of a gallery in my home town of Linz on Donau.

It is my most sincere wish that this bequest may be duly executed.

I nominate as my Executor my most faithful Party comrade,
Martin Bormann

He is given full legal authority to make all decisions.

He is permitted to take out everything that has a sentimental value or is necessary for the maintenance of a modest simple life, for my brothers and sisters, also above all for the mother of my wife and my faithful co-workers who are well known to him, principally my old Secretaries Frau Winter etc. who have for many years aided me by their work.

I myself and my wife - in order to escape the disgrace of deposition or capitulation - choose death. It is our wish to be burnt immediately on the spot where I have carried out the greatest part of my daily work in the course of a twelve years' service to my people.

Given in Berlin, 29th April 1945, 4:00 A.M.
A. Hitler

Dr. Joseph Goebbels
Martin Bormann
Colonel Nicholaus von Below

P.S. I pass my legacy of murder to the Bush Family (okay I made that part up ~ E.)

4. bdays fill oct in our family. we spend two weeks playng with halloween
Edited on Tue Oct-17-06 09:36 AM by seabeyond
as a family. we gather, we play, we laugh, we love. i tell my boys how evil is it,.... we dress up in scary and we mock evilness. and we interact with neighbors all up and down the street. as a community we play in laughter and joy.

i am thinking god wouldnt disapprove.

further, i think it is an honoring of all god represents.

so, this week we are pulling out decoration, going to a bear bash fest at the school (halloween party), celebrating youngests 9 yr old bday, with cousins, uncles, friends, grandparents, painting pumpkins, eating and play. and then we spend the next couple weeks talking about costumes, and getting our fog machine out and buying glow sticks.....

i am right there with you

7. NO WAY! My little bro & I were BOTH born on 10/30, 2 years apart...
which is also exactly 9 lunar months after my Dad's Birth Day (lol)

Everybody in my family shares a bday w/ someone else, except for my Mom. When I met my hubs, guess what? His bday is the same as Mothers. So I HAD to marry him.

15. My papa is a Halloween baby too
Born in the back seat of a car at some stoplight in Chicago.

We must all make sure to celebrate Halloween in your traditional way, and not allow these culture warriors encroach upon human joy for one minute longer.

17. November 1

All Saints Day. In my case, I missed Halloween by 15 minutes, the night of ghosts and goblins and demons, but turned into a saint instead. :-)

I still beg for candy.
