DEM'Y NOW! Did you know Spain helped WH in Venez coup?
Dem'y Now = Democracy Now.

Tariq Aziz (sp) is on with Amy about the illegal coup sponsored by the U.S. and Spain against Chavez. I didn't know about the collusion of Spain - Which Aziz says he has covered this in his book - Pirates of the Caribbean.

France helped in the successful coup against Aristede of Haiti - who had been duly elected.
Spain helped in the uncuccessful coup against Chavez in Venezuela - who had been duly elected.

Does that make France and Spain enemies of democracy? I say YES!

Don't miss Democracy Now today If you can - watch the extra money raising extra 20 minutes following the regular hour.

Once again, we have leaders of countries helping the leaders of our country conduct illiegal takeovers. If this isn't an international baron takeover pf the world and the common citizens - WHAT IS?

The fllm that contains footage of scenes from the Chavez coup is The Revolution Will Not Be Televised.

1. That makes us enemies of democracy, too! Glad we failed.

2. A right-winger was in power in Spain back then. He's been booted since.
Now the Prime Minister is the wonderfully lefty José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.

5. Thanks for mentioning that nasty little Nazi Aznar is outta there now.
It seemed he'd never leave. Even now we hear his unwanted comments on current affairs from time to time, to show us he's gone, but not nearly far away enough!

8. Add a few beards and red robes and you get

The Spanish Inquisition! (I bet you weren't expecting that ...)

Aznar looks particularly like Michael Palin, sneering.

3. Worth remembering who was in charge of Spain at the time
The Shrub-loving, Iraq-war-supporting excuse of a government of Jose Maria Aznar.

The socialist government of Zapatero, on the other hand, is selling Venezuela the military equipment and weapons it wants to fend off a Shrubco invasion

4. Goes to show it is a global thing, not just American
The other wealthy nations are at the very least supportive of neo-colonialism by turning a blind eye, and are in many cases actively participating. The US is the front-runner, and others follow. Very few oppose and those who do are decried as communist, dictatorial or terrorist.

6. That would have been under Jose Maria Asshat, who is gone,
departed, voted out, no more the Prime Minister, and never to make Spain the United States' lackey again.

7. Good old imperialists
doing what they've done best for 500 years -rape, loot, invade, occupy and convert in any order. No surprise here.

9. You can download the documentary "Inside the Coup"
Edited on Tue Oct-17-06 12:05 PM by sfexpat2000
at this link. It's in Spanish (for some reason the English version doesn't seem to be out yet. :eyes: ) It opens with Ari Fleischer lying his ass off about this so called popular coup when in reality, BushCo pushed it and the people were told Chavez had resigned. When they find out this is a LIE, they pour into the streets of Caracas! Maybe this is a good day to watch this record of the people taking back their duly elected governemt. Even if you don't speak Spanish, the images speak for themselves:

Edit: It's the second one from the top: "La Revolución no será transmitida" (1 hora 15 min)

Trans: "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" 1 hour 15 min

13. OMG! I just watched this documentary.

With the help of the United States, the Venezuelan elite -- oilmen -- tried to depose the duly elected President of Venezuela. And like BushCo, they had ALL the media except one state run channel. Ari Fleischer is shown to be a horse's ass and a lying c word -- he said Chavez supporters fired on peaceful protesters when the film clearly shows Chavez supporters were fired on by snipers.

:wow:

They took Chavez away and an AMERICAN plane came to take him out of the county.

He wouldn't resign.

I don't know why they didn't kill him.

But the thing is, Chavez still had the people and the rank and file in the military. And between them, they sent the BushCo loving backslappers packing.

It was amazing.

And it's all on tape. Here. Because the dumb ass CIA didn't bother to notice two documentarians were with the Chavez government the whole time.

If you only watch Segments #3 & #4, do it. This is what people can do when their Constitution is violated, when their media is sold out, when their election is threatened by the cronies and the corporate interests.

I'm speechless.

The link is in post #11.

14. In another current thread about Paraguay = someone is saying
that the V coup was handled from a base we set up and lied about in Ecuador. Big base.

No matter which way you cut it - Bolivia, Venezuela, and Cuba are in big trouble if PNAC and the Bush Moon Dynasties are not stopped. Our Pentagon is arranging everything. Not a peep from the State Dept and from our nearly hopeless Congress.

Argentina, Brazil, and Chile will follow. A Chile and Argentine Redux.
