We the People,
It is with great excitement and optimism that I announce today the formation of a new progressive talk radio network. Myself along with my partners, Anita and Sheldon Drobny; the original cofounders of the Air America Radio Network, want to be the first to tell all you “truth seekers” that the original truth seeker himself Mike Malloy will be born again live on the public airwaves. The planned second coming (barring any apocalypse) is scheduled for October 30, 2006.

The Mike Malloy Show will initially broadcast live, from 9PM -12 Midnight (EST) on Nova M Radio affiliate 1480-AM KPHX Phoenix.

In addition, I’m equally excited to announce our strategic partnership with Joe Trippi and associates. Joe Trippi revolutionized electoral politics in America with his instrumental role in Howard Dean’s 2004 presidential campaign, raising over $40 million in small donor contributions over the internet. Joe created a new paradigm in how campaigns locally and nationally are conducted by leveraging the scope and breadth of innovative internet-based technologies and digital tools. Joe and his team will help us reach out to millions of us who share common values and common goals.

Also joining our team will be internationally renowned pollster John Zogby, President and CEO of Zogby International. John will be co-hosting a weekly one hour show, “The Pulse of the Nation” where John polls particular hot button issues from politics and pop culture to the War in Iraq and stem cell research. How is everybody? :hi:

I don't know how much longer I'm going to stick with this. My stream has disappeared yet again, and it appears Nova has no plans at all to broadcast to us city folk, who for some reason must be beneath their notice.

This internet bs seems a lot more hassle than it's worth, seeing that the Phoenix station demands that I download and install (with NO INSTRUCTIONS) yet another player.

I spent a fortune on an xm set up, and I can read and listen to lovely music without all this hassle, and without missing huge chunks of the show.

I'm really pretty dismayed at their business plan. I hope for their sake the soccer moms like Malloy, because we who do are not being considered at all.

Some damn player I never heard of, from a bunch of anonymous download sites. I'm supposed to install this stuff on my machine? First of all, they don't tell you how, second,which sites are trustworthy? I don't need to download a customized mac virus from one of those anonymous sites.

38. I used Windows Media Player today to see if I could set up a

regular link for myself. I didn't have to download anything not already on my computer. It worked fine after I found a good link to use mms://wm3.spacialnet.com/novamradio55700

Hope this helps someone else.

The one thing I noticed is I can't pause if I leave the computer and them come back. I don't like that. That is what I did with RealPlayer - I even started it when I knew I had to leave home and then came back and unpaused it and didn't miss anything. That won't work now so I do hope Ben gets to archive.

When I went there there were a half a dozen download sites, listed geographically only, and something about copying to hard drives.

Mac is not very user friendly when it comes to this stuff, unless you are downloading from the mac site. RealPlayer installed itself, not that it was worth the money or the time.

I'm just appalled at the business plan that has no intent to go into urban areas. If you have never lived in a "liberal" urban area, you have no idea how tiresom it is to always being taken for granted. You live in New York, therefore, you are liberal and we can count on you whether we serve you or listen to you or not.

I'm really surprised that Mike would sign on to such a business plan. I guess he expects us to stream, move, or go ... oh you know.

I understand he needs the job. Good for him that he is employed again. But mucho boos for a company that turns its back on a big and very loyal part of its audience.

Oh, don't be like that MamaBear. It's BUSINESS. Feh.

104. It just downloaded automatically for me, but the important point

is once it downloads & you install it it will give you options on how to work with the Realplayer player. Personally I don't run RealPlayer in Quicktime. Here's part of the Flip4Mac instructions. If you need me to copy more let me know.

Nobody who does office work takes public transportation in the middle of the night, even secretaries and word processing people get cars. New York is safer than it used to be, but it's still gotham.

I'm frankly a little tired of having to chase software and hardware and headaches every six months to hear one stupid show. And those download sites are anonymous. I don't mind too much downloading from well known corporate sites, but to connect to somebody in Mineesota is nuts! On dialup it takes a long time to download, gets interrupted all the time, the sound sucks, etc, etc.

Like I said, is it worth it? I'm not sure any more, and since city people doon't count any more, why should I go to yet another round of hassle for another two or three months of shows?

Actually, will any of this still happen after November elections?

According to this thread (http://www.mikemalloy.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=44190), they have been talking with Nova M to carry Mike. They also stream, as well.

Don't think that this is just strictly a KPHX-only program; there will likely be stations (with streams!) all over the country that will pick up Mike's program in the weeks to come. Mike's new 9 PM time slot will be especially convenient for progressive talk affiliates that carry Ed Schultz live and Randi delayed afterwards...

Contact your local progressive talk station, especially if they carried Malloy before!
