How has the GOP made you a better person?
There are some things I used to do but gave up on. Protests are one of the things that come to mind. The GOP has inspired me to do many new things that I had not done before. As evil as the GOP are, I am a much better person today because they are in power.

- I have multiple bumper stickers on my car.
- I have gone out and protested in my own city as well as others.
- I have written to the editor of the local newspaper.
- I have badgered friends and family with tons of facts. (with URL's to back them up, of course!)I used to be timid about doing this but I feel that there is enough danger that it is my duty to put it all out there.
- I know a lot more names of world leaders than I did before.
- I know more history about a lot more countries.
- I know more facts about government officials and their history than I ever have before. This is due to some research but mostly due to you wonderful folks, so you have made me better as well.
- Having to fight misinformation for the last five years has made me a thousand times better at debate and arguing points.
- I am from Canada and so I only knew what the average person does about the US law. I have read and researched an awful lot of law since these idiots took office. I almost feel like I am ready for the bar exam.
- The best way the GOP has made me a better person is by how isolated I felt. I reached out on the internet and found you folks. I may have never done that if it were not for the current folks in office. You all have opened my eyes and made me into a much smarter person.

Are there more minuses than pluses? Of course there are, but the GOP has made me a much stronger person in the long run. How have they made you better?

8. Sherman A1....
I would argue that if you are better informed, you are a better person. No matter how you feel, I am glad you are better informed. Being informed is a nice but sometimes scary feeling.

... stepbrother's birthday. He's in Oklahoma and is a Bush supporter. Pretty stupid for an otherwise intelligent guy - but he's got a heavy dose of "me first" arrogance. So, I bought him two books for his birthday - rather than just send a card.

"Conservatives Without Conscience" by John Dean
"The Greatest Story Ever Sold: The Decline and Fall of Truth from 9/11 to Katrina" by Frank Rich

I think that's pretty generous of me, don't you?? It's better to give than receive. :silly:

7. All they have done for me is make me an angry old man
I find my self yelling at the TV if I dare watch news. That is something I thought only Nebraska fans used to do. I had a roommate in college from Nebraska.

I never really hated anyone before the GOP ruined our nation.

11. Not really...
I cuss a lot. I'm angry, bitter, shrill, and truly hate Bush and his cabal of criminals. I never hated anyone until 6 years ago, and it took me 2 years to admit that. On the other hand, I try to stay informed and have been more politically and socially active than I was. Let's face it, this nation has been doing insidious shit to other nations for years. It's just in the open and more rampant under Bush.

12. No, worse.
That is the nature of evil. It is contagious. Things that used to appall me I now consider normal. I begin to think of a few dead GIs or a 100 dead Iraqis as a routine matter. I now distinguish between fundamental violations of the Constitution and superficial ones. Stocking up on canned goods and ammunition now seems like a good idea.

14. The GOP have made me realize
how much I love this country and my grandkids. I always took it for granted that we would have our freedoms. I naively thought that we all wanted the same things, but had different ways of getting there.

Then Shrub happened. I've seen that they truly are all about taking freedoms away. I got scared for my grandkids. I don't want them to have to live in Bushworld.

I'm starting to fight for the first time in my life for what I believe in.

15. They have not made me a better person
cause now I'm filled with hate and bitterness plus being totally cynical. Guess the only good thing they did was to ensure that NEVER EVER NO MATTER WHAT will I ever vote for a repuke NO WAY! :grr:
