On "Stealing America" (the film) & Freedom's End on Tues. 10/17 at 915 EST

This begins as some commentson a very good new film on elections, but ends up being much more including the end of freedom now upon us because of the elimination of habeas corpus and the torture authorization of the Military Commissions Act of 2006, scheduled to be signed by * tomorrow morning at 915 a.m.

This really is the end of freedom. Claims to the contrary are baloney.

But, these things never really go away, they are unalienable and inalienable. They come back when EXERCISED, the rights do, that is.

Goodbye checks and balances, goodbye habeas corpus, you can actually smell the absolute power of King George now. But it's the emptiest thing you can possibly imagine.

This portion on habeas and torture will be reissued in a substantially expanded and more powerful form within 24 hours.

5. Thanks, rumpel. K&R
From Paul's article:

"We can cry for 9-11, and we can cry for government levee victims in New Orleans, but we should not have to cry about the loss of the very fundamentals of our structures of freedom and democracy. These are what our leaders were sworn to uphold, not eliminate."

3. Welp. . .
On the surface things could scarcely be more dire for sure.

Still, I've a deep abiding sense that the unconstitutionality of all of this will eventually cause this bill to be stricken down somehow when sanity and justice are restored.

That sense coupled with the irrational though profound feeling that they simply can't get away with this for much longer, and that a wise one assured me recently that "it is unsustainable" are the source of whatever solace I have.

Chin up.

9. Solace....
Its a wonderful thing.

This can't stand. 230 years of constitutional law will prevail. It has too.

10. Hold a screening of STEALING AMERICA: Vote by Vote
Hold a screening of "STEALING AMERICA: Vote by Vote" (have a house party, show it on campus, rent a hall or theater).

UNTIL NOVEMBER 1st, Dorothy Fadiman is making her new film available at a nominal fee so that Election Integrity activists and activist organizations can use the film to SPREAD THE WORD of our stolen elections and for fund-raising purposes. Go to http://www.stealingamerica.org for more information.

Post your event on STEALINGAMERICA.org and notify me (kiphumphrey@51capitalmarch.com) of your screening date, time, place, speakers, and send me a mailing address to receive 2 FREE 11"x17" movie posters (please allow 2 weeks lead time).
