4. I agree. If anything, it will make everyone ask, "was it
worth ________ American lives? For him to be just judged guilty and not even sentenced yet?

It is a non-issue.

3. Gee, how convenient...!!!
Will Meet The Potatohead and Larry King Live devote "the full OWWWWWWW-ah" to the event?

Will people pay attention? Will they watch Sunday television, or will they be out getting a head start on their Xmas shopping and Thanksgiving preparations???

7. The situation in Iraq has not improved with
Saddam being in custody so I doubt very many people will care.

8. I don't think this will change many votes
I think most people will see that it is obviously timed to coincide with the elections. It will give Bush another opportunity to say, "See, America is safer because Saddam has been brought to justice, blah, blah, blah," but I doubt that will have any effect on the outcome. We've heard it all before.

However, it could be used as an explanation for "surprise" victories by Republicans.

I think the timing is totally intentional.

Quote from a comedian and the Montreal Comedy Festival.

" We should have sent in wives to look for WMD in Iraq. Can't just hear them: "Honey I found the WMD ...right where you left them".
