Edited on Mon Oct-16-06 02:49 PM by never_get_over_it
the Congress is made up of the House of Representatives and the Senate - but I have never heard a Senator referred to as a Congressman - so their headline more appropiately should be the America's dumbest Members of Congress - not Congressman....

btw: is Mary Bono still a Member of Congress - I can't imagine her not being on this list.....

4. There's one change that I think needs to be made.
Edited on Mon Oct-16-06 01:00 PM by AndyA
1.Katherine Harris
2. James Inhofe
3. Donald Young

Then, when Harris loses in November, Inhofe will be #1. And it's a title he DESPERATELY DESERVES. The man is as dumb as a box of rocks.

And he's as tilted to the right as the Tilt-A-Whirl at the Fair.

Edit to add: I don't think Boxer belongs on this list at all. And I think Santorum should have a spot in the top 10, too.

10. it's like when Esquire ranked the ten worst reps and senators
it was 8-2, and they explained that, reasonably, by pointing out that the republicans have had much more opportunity to be bad (and good) in the past decade.

18. No, when Boxer went to campaign for Lieberman, I determined
that her interests are part of "The Club" and not the true core issues that benefit American Constituents. If I lived in her district, I'd vote for her Democratic Challenger in the very next Primary.

21. Wait
So she helps a friend out when he's still an incumbent Democrat and she's a bad person? She has not gone to support Joe since he lost the primary. You're talking about someone who ranks right up there with Kerry, Gore and Feingold as being one of our strongest voices since the '04 election.

She has been up there fighting like a pitbull for us and yet she's a bad Democrat now?

Wow.

her paychecks. Albeit Boxer is intelligent, I hope a more dedicated (to the people) challenger wins over her in the next Democratic Primary. :-)

31. Her paycheck has NOTHING TO DO
Edited on Mon Oct-16-06 03:01 PM by never_get_over_it
with who she supports in a Democratic primary - believe me I was VERY disappointed in her for her support of Joe LIEberman because truthfully they are polar opposites...and I hate Joe Lieberman. But I would never be so stupid as to not support Barbara Boxer because she has done SO MUCH good for truly liberal issues AND she was the Senator who stood up and challenged the 2004 Ohio vote. She also wanted to challenge the 2000 Florida vote but Al Gore asked her ot to. She also was one of the very few Senators who joined Russ Feingold on his effort to censure the devil in chief on the warrantless wire tap...

And in a previous post you mentinoned if you lived in her district - she doesn't represent a district she represents a STATE - sounds to me like you know very little about Barbara Boxer except she supported Joe LIEberman....

33. I know enough about her to know that when she shills for a Republican
Edited on Mon Oct-16-06 03:19 PM by ShortnFiery
that she is to be considered someone to watch closely.

Gee, some folks LOVE someone no matter how despicable they act on their own time. Well, what she does in "her own time" counts because she SERVES US first.

If she wants to promote those who do not have The Democratic Party's best interest at heart, then she can give up her position and be a civilian fund raiser.

Nope, this was the ultimate deceit. And yes, I've heard her brilliantly question Republicans. Figuratively hand them their a**. However, perhaps her next challenger can be equally as gifted.

She crossed the line in her ACTIONS and that lost my devotion. I will always voted for The Democrat, but I hope her Democratic Challenger kicks her butt in the next primary.

Serving in Congress is "A Privilege" not a right or necessarily a career. Boxer and "her friend" are seemingly acting like we OWE THEM instead of THEM SERVING US.

On Edit: What did all these "brave stands" of Sen Boxer's truly accomplish? That's right nothing. IMO, she's part of the incumbant "waltz." I'll be sure to give money to her SENATE Democratic Challenger. In other words, we need new blood who don't feel entitled to do any damn thing they please. Again THEY serve US. Not just "posturing and lip service" as they KNOW they'll be run over - no harm - no foul - NO RISK.

34. OK I don't love Barbara Boxer no matter what she does
and if you have ever seen the times I have been bashed on DU because I have criticized John Kerry, Hillary Clinton and my DINO Senator Bill Nelson you would have never made such a statement. I am one of the last people to support a Dem just because they say they are a Dem - why the hell do you think I freaking HATE Joe LIEberman.

I said I was terribly disappointed in her for her support of Joe LIEberman - but you really really don't know what you are talking about - Barbara Boxer is one of the MOST liberal Democrats in the Senate. She voted against the Iraq War Resolution, the Military Commission Act, she opposed cloture for Alito, and she freaking protested the 2004 Presidential OH electoral vote in Congress - do you have any idea how historical and big that is.

Her pre-primary support of Joe Lieberman is the ONLY thing I have ever disagreed with her on - so no I won't stop supporting her because in a Democratic primary she happened to support someone I don't like. I called her office and expressed my dissppointment but I'm not throwing the baby out with the bath water.

By your incumbent waltz theory we should get rid of Dennis Kucinich, Russ Feingold, Ted Kennedy, Patrick Leahy, Dick Durbin and several others just because they are incumbents

The Senators you should be opposing in their next election are the four or five current Senators who are still supporting Joe LIEberman AFTER the primary - those are the DINOS - and those are the ones we should focus on not good solid liberals like Barbara Boxer....

44. She crossed the line with Lieberman "her friend" - No Slack!
There are other Good Potential Democratic Candidates who can take her place and present themselves as eloquently as Boxer.

IMO she is too entrenched in "leadership - good ol' boy & girl smoozing" friendships and forgot that serving her constituents is a privilege - not her right to go tear assing off to support someone who is COUNTER to her political positions.

We need to "dismiss" (not re-elect Democratic Incumbants) those who support The Traitors to our party.

BTW I'd feel differently if she would take her seemingly "star power" to Connecticut and Campaign for Lamont. But she won't do that, will she? Her friendship with "The Traitor" over-rides her patriotism.

No Slack.

Boxer isn't really a cogressional representative - although Congress is made up of the House of Representatives and the Senate - members of the house are referred to as Congressmen, Congresswomen or representatives (as in member of the House of Representatives) - but I have NEVER heard a Senator referred to as anything other than a Senator.....

On edit - the fact that this article is called 10 dumbest Congressmen is one of the two reasons I believe it is totally lame - since there are Senators on the list - the other reason is that Senator Barbara Boxer should not be on this list - PERIOD
