As I reported to you in my 10/14 post, the Drobnys are dedicated to building upon the wide open market that has been established in liberal talk radio. The failure of AAR was a business failure caused by terrible managerial decisions, but that does not mean that liberal talk radio is finished. On the contrary, the dream I had 4 years ago is a reality in that there now is a lot of interest in syndicating liberal talk show hosts. And there are many radio station owners who have committed themselves to a full 24/7 liberal format including XM Satellite and Sirius Satellite. In that regard, I am posting a letter from our CEO, Dr. Mike Newcombe.

We the People,

It is with great excitement and optimism that I announce today the formation of a new progressive talk radio network. Myself along with my partners, Anita and Sheldon Drobny; the original cofounders of the Air America Radio Network, want to be the first to tell all you "truth seekers" that the original truth seeker himself Mike Malloy will be born again live on the public airwaves. The planned second coming (barring any apocalypse) is scheduled for October 30, 2006.

Big investors are not always good managers. Especially when those investors come out of liberal political backgrounds.

I have had some experience with those people, in the past. They can do a 3 hour conference call over a pixel. Some of them are right nasty, too.

5. Because the right wingers spent 30 years "perfecting" their

airwave-grab...and we are trying to catch up in a hurry..

right wingers bought radio stations when they were cheap...and they bought a LOT of them.

They flew under the radar, while dems were still in "control" of the big stuff, so weveryone laufghed at and mocked people like Limbaugh..called him and his ilk buffoonish (they ARE, but....)

It was not until their "success" spelled doom for all the folks who made fun of them and underestimated them, but by the time everyone realized how much damage they had done, it was too late to "compete" with them on an equal footing..

It's just raw, gutsy business..

If you own a hamburger place and you want no competition, you buy up the other three corners of the intersection...no one can open a competing hanburger stand if YOU own the land..

It says on his website he's substituting for Jerry Springer Thur, Fri.

What I don't know is when is Jerry springer on now? I thought he was canned from Air America as well. If so where can I stream his show? Anyone know?

9. When AAR put Springer on the Air I felt it was the beginning of

end. I'm sorry whatever his liberal politics maybe, his circus acts on TV are exploitive of people looking for fifteen minutes of "fame." He plays to the lowest expectations and hope for people. Yes, those people willing go on that show, but he sure does not mind raking in millions with his carnival show presenting people in their worst light. Shame on him! So, I can't stand hearing his voice on the radio and I just turned him off. I have a sense of humor but not in putting down people and I'm not perfect on that front either.

I like Al, Randi and Mike, also Laura Flanders, so I checked out when Springer was on and switched channels and found Stephanie Miller on the other liberal station in Sacramento AM1240 "Talk City." When they dropped Mike I felt betrayed. So competition in the liberal/progressive radio world is good. I look forward to Nova. I wish them well as I do the good folks who are trying to make AAR work.

Some of those stations must have dropped him since he's not in the lineup. But several do carry him live in the morning. And 990 KRKT shows Springer aired on delay later at night.
