Dixie Chicks Interview on New Zealand TV
Edited on Mon Oct-16-06 01:34 AM by brettdale
Too bad they aren't coming here, but they are touring Australia.

Some of there comments were.

"we couldn't grasp the hatred"

"I was surprise they were surprise at our comments they know we are liberal"

"We were called Saddam's angels"

They then mentioned the line from the song NOT READY TO MAKE NICE "Its a sad sad world when a mother will teach her daughter to hate a perfect stranger"

Natalie said she wrote that line, from a true life incident, a Lady holding a baby came up to her, looked at her baby and said "Say screw you, go on say it"

2. well
They just went on about the abuse they took, and when they originally said sorry, they said the media and country radio twisted what they said, and thats why they did the song "Not ready to make nice"

They were a credit to America.

They were of course well spoken and made so much sense.

3. Their problems are so deep, I don't know how it will turn out here
They may enjoy enormous popularity on the world stage (I hope they do!) but our media is totally controlled. There is a bottom line of popularity and the market is tightly held. Labor is cheap (artists). I'm proud of their bravery during our dark times. I'm just sorry they're still unable to recapture their reputation at home.

Thanks for sharing!

Peace.
