I'd really like to hear some discussion on this stuation
They're up against the wall and they know it.
They are most dangerous now.
Yes, We have a lot of manpower coming to play at the polls on Nov 7
But they have dirty suppression and Diebold
and carriers and other firepower steaming towards the gulf.
Even though we SEE it we can't get the word out
They have the TV media and if it ain't on JimmieJoe's remote control,
It ain't happening, no matter how loud we scream about it.

I hate to say it, almost as bad as I hate having to depend on it,
But it seems to me that the only hope is that Mr Putin and his Chinese counterparts
are at the helm with level heads and concern for global welfare,
and can back down these evil fools who have commandeered our ship of state
and keep them from making everyone's worst nightmare come real.

What are your thoughts?

2. You think Putin cares about you? You think China cares about you?
Look what China just did to some of their own citizens. I'm sure it wasn't the first time either. This time there's video though.

6. Here's three.
Edited on Mon Oct-16-06 01:30 AM by sfexpat2000
1. You're right. We're dealing with all the things you name: A government in the hands of sociopaths who also happen to exert a great deal of control over our dirty elections.

2. But, they have pissed off the people who they'd mostly need to attack us: the intelligence community and the military. So, I think they can't really count on them. They can try to intimidate us via their whore media but they've done that so much in the last six years that it won't work very well for very much longer. We're getting "terror deaf".

3. As far as the elections, imho, their control isn't near complete plus we've had years now to learn how they operate. There are LOTS of people all over this piece and, we could use more help.

We need to GOTV as if there is no Diebold et al and we have to watch over this election like it's our only child. We have to do both. We don't count on anyone else to do it. We're up.

I'm afraid that's the best I an do.

7. My two cents:
You are right, IMO, they are desparate and they WILL try to cling to power, by some Oct. surprise terror/war and by all the election fraud they can get away with

BUT

o The House elections are a little messier to steal, since they are local in nature, and not every district is controled by Diebold types and/or corrupt (i.e. rethug) election boards.

o Also, a much larger proportion of Americans today are receptive, to say the least, to the idea that the 'thugs really do steal elections, than were receptive even after 2004.

The conclusions I draw: If the numbers are large enough, they will either not steal enough to control both chambers of Congress, or will be so obvious about trying to steal the whole thing that FINALLY there will be a real revolt by the vast majority of Americans, including the heretofore slumbering masses, large numbers of even the wealthy classes, the military and intelligence services, many disgusted conservatives and maybe even one or two court stenographers!

I think the best things we can do are:
o GOTV in HUGE numbers (including bringing sandwiches and entertainment for the inevitable 8-hour lines in heavily Dem areas), in order to make the job of stealing the election as messy/obvious as possible.
o Publicize the history of election fraud NOW as loudly and widely as possible, so that the general public is paying attention on 11/7.
o Mobilize/volunteer local poll watchers, with cameras and tape recorders, to get evidence.
o Make plans now for revolution/resistance (such as massive demonstrations, strikes, calling for international boycotts of the no-longer-democratic US, buyers' boycott of BushCo oil, and God I don't know what else) starting when FAUX announces the 'surprising' results as the polls are closing! (Sorry, but once elections have become utterly fraudulent, working 'within the system' seems useless to me.)

8. The main problem is Bush - not necessarily the whole Republican party. Ji
Jim Baker is in the process of getting Bush on the right track. Bush will probably stay in office, but with his foreign policy held in check. Bush and Bush alone, is responsible for the whole world hating us. I think this can be repaired amazingly easy as soon as Bush is gone.

The Republicans may still win the elections, but everybody in the Republican party is not as harmful as Bush has been. He is an anomaly.

Of course, a Democratic president would be best - but a Republican president would be better than Putin or his Chinese counterpart. I think we forget just how bad these countries are.

I don't think so. Bush isn't the only evil fool out there - I hope the UN can help all of these leaders see reason.

10. If we have to
depend on Russia and China, we really are screwed.

What makes you think their leaders are "level-headed" or concerned for global, rater than national, interests?

12. Russia and China will prevent him from further destabilizing the ME
in order to keep the oil flowing, but they are both our sworn enemies and will do what they have to in order to further their own agendas. To that end, Russia will let us founder, and China will prop us up for a few more years while they complete their infrastructure.
