Cruel Freeper hoax: Anti-War Mom gets mail with "Deceased" on it
Anti-war mom gets `cruel' returned mail

Associated Press
Published October 15, 2006

ST. PAUL -- A Minnesota mother who has been outspoken against the war in Iraq and against her son's deployment there said she was shocked when a letter she had sent to him came back with the word "DECEASED" stamped on it.

Joan Najbar's son, Sam Eininger, 21, is alive, a National Guard spokesman said Friday.

"It's very upsetting," Najbar, 55, said. "I think this is somebody's cruel little joke."

She works as a mental health therapist in Duluth and hasn't been shy about her feelings on the deployment that took her son out of Concordia College and sent him to Iraq in April.

She has written letters to the local newspaper and protested in St. Paul and Duluth.

Lt. Sheree Savage, a spokeswoman for the Minnesota National Guard, said the Army would not return letters to the family of a dead soldier in this manner. A Postal Service spokesman said the Duluth postmaster would investigate.

3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but besides being unutterably cruel,
this is a federal crime, right? Mail fraud or some such?

10. Actually, it's probably an honest mistake

What are the chances that a Freepretard could get ahold of US mail or US military mail - and also know that the mother is anti-war? Highly unlikely. Unless they stole it out of her mailbox.

More likely is that some overworked mail clerk in the middle of the desert gets used to stamping "Deceased" on mail destined for the ever increasing number of Bush sacrificed soldiers and stamps the letter for processing and reply by the soldier's commanding officer. Somehow, it gets mixed in with the Return to Sender mail and voila the mother gets this macabre Halloween present.

I can't think of a really likely way that this would happen. The military usually sends a chaplain and a couple of officers to tell parents in person that Bush killed their children in a meaningless war.

12. That seems like a lot of accidents - does the military even use a
stamp like that? Also, I seem to remember from another article that the postmarks on the letter indicated that it had never left the city where she lives.

A mistake isn't impossible, but my guess is that some total fucktard in the local P.O. decided to play a prank on this particular woman, and the letter never got to the military at all or even left her hometown...

11. Sick, vicious, hateful monster
The best revenge will be to see their sorry faces when Democrats kick the Republican Party's ass across the street on November 7th. This kind of stuff only motivates me to vote even more.
