Happy Ides of October!
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=2401396&mesg_id=2401396

I'll do everything I can to get this out to the MSM, now that it's finally public.

3. I'm confused. Is "I" = you or = CorpGovActivist? Or is there some kind
of other arrangement going on?

CorpGovActivist posted the thread you linked right?

You're not the same person are you?

4. I've known about David's Halliburton mishap...
... for quite some time now. David = CorpGovActivist.

"CorpGovActivist posted the thread you linked right?"

Correct.

"You're not the same person are you?"

Publius wasn't: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federalist_Papers

9. Which House were you in?
Which year?

Some of the friendships and bonds formed at Harvard transcend every barrier (cemented by inside jokes, stories that could *almost* sink candidacies, etc.).

Do you think they really cooked a Thanksgiving turkey in their Dunster House fireplace?

13. Let's just say that I'm way AFTER the Gore/TLJ era, but way BEFORE
the David Allen Smith era.

It's easy enough to trace me by biographical info I've provided, but I don't like to make it TOO easy.

16. That boxes you in from...
... '69 (Al Gore senior year) to '90 (David's frosh year).

So:

1. Did you have to take the QRR?

2. Which (ever more byzantine) system did they use your frosh year, to assign you to a House? I hear they're working on a Sorting Hat System next.

3. What was the best Core course you took? The worst?

4. Finally - and most importantly - how did you fare in Expos?

; )

5. Watch your back Ides. How is this "finally public"? Public because
you have posted it or public because someone is bringing this up in the MSM?

6. "Finally public," in that David has chosen...
... to make it so.

Up until now, David had spoken only with a select few. But now the story is "out there, in the public domain," and I intend to do everything I can to make sure that the MSM finds out about it.

As for watching my back: thanks, will do.

11. Get the bail money ready...
... because David is due in Boston later this week, for the latest hearing in the trumped-up "criminal trespass" charge that Andy Card's pal, State Street CEO Ron Logue, has pressed against him:

http://www.shareholdersonline.org/pdf/HaveYouSeenThisMan.pdf

David tipped off the MSM in March about Andy Card's connection to State Street, and urged these reporters to re-visit the Enron story - from the perspective of why such senior Bush Administration officials clamored for State Street to be annointed as the "special fiduciary" of the Enron pension plans:

Andy Card's connection to Ron Logue the Rogue: http://www.google.com/search?q=card+logue+%22staid+street%22+rocky&hl=en&lr=&filter=0

Elaine Chao and Eugene Scalia demand that Federal Court annoint State Street: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=elaine+chao+eugene+scalia+enron+%22state+street%22

When the MSM started poking into that angle, Andy Card suddenly went from talking about breaking Sherman Adams' old record for longest-serving Chief of Staff, to giving his fawning farewell to the President: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=card+resigns+%22white+house%22+chief+of+staff

His resignation took effect on April 14, 2006. On April 19, 2006, Logue handed out some payback, by having David arrested and his partner ejected from the State Street shareholders' meeting.

David's partner, Patrick, has sponsored a number of corporate governance reforms at State Street, beginning in 2000. At this year's annual meeting, Logue took his draconian steps to silence them during discussion of Patrick's shareholder proposal to redeem the company's poison pill, which passed overwhelmingly:

In addition, Patrick had two other proposals, which he was unable to present for consideration, since he was ejected from the meeting by Andy Card's high school hooligan.

The questions and prepared statements that got Logue the Rogue in such a snit: http://www.shareholdersonline.org/pdf/questions%20for%202006%20AGM.pdf

but if it does, I'm sure there are a least a few people on DU who would be willing to help out.

17. And we get to do it all over again ...
... to celebrate the Julian Calendar's Ides!

(Since Friday, October 13, 1307 was on the Julian Calendar, not today's more modern Gregorian Calendar...)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_calendar

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregorian_Calendar

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregorian_Calendar#Invention

Why did the switchover happen in October?

October 4, 1582 was the last day of the Julian Calendar. The next morning dawned on October 15, 1582 in the new Gregorian Calendar.

That means that October 13th - the anniversary of the attempted purge of the Knights Templar - was skipped on both calendars the year of the switchover.

So, this year, let's add an extra "Friday the 13th" back in, to commemorate how attempted purges by would-be syndicates so often fail.

If Batman and Robin are in the parade, may I suggest Kevlar (sp?) vests, of the best quality?
