CNN Statement on Adding Bill Bennett (What a Crock of Sh*t!)
http://www.turnerinfo.com/newsitem.aspx?P=CNN&CID01=41a985ab-ff47-48e6-b25b-83336907f7ff

William J. Bennett, radio talk show host and former U.S. secretary of education, will join CNN as a regular contributor to offer analysis and insight about politics and culture for various programs throughout the network, it was announced today by CNN/U.S. President Jon Klein. Bennett will be one of CNN’s political commentators as part of the network’s continuing effort to bring a broad range of perspectives to its viewers.

“Bill’s experiences as one of the nation’s most influential and provocative conservative thinkers will provide our viewers with a unique perspective on many political issues,” Klein said. “We look forward to his candid and expressive contribution to our broadcasts.”

Bennett’s political career began in 1981 when he was appointed by President Ronald Reagan as chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities. From 1985 to 1988, Bennett served as secretary of education for President Reagan. Former President George H.W. Bush appointed Bennett as the administration’s drug czar, where he served from 1989-1990.

Currently, Bennett is the Washington Fellow of the Claremont Institute and the chairman of Americans for Victory over Terrorism. Bennett’s writings appear in leading newspapers and magazines, and his weekday morning radio program Bill Bennett’s Morning in America broadcasts on 125 stations across the country. In addition, he has written 16 books, two of which – The Book of Virtues and The Children’s Book of Virtues – rank among the most successful non-fiction books of the past decade. Bennett’s most recent book is Why We Fight: Moral Clarity and the War on Terrorism. The first volume of his two-volume history of the United States, America: The Last Best Hope, will be released this spring.

10. OK! That does it for me
CNN will join Faux News on my blocked channels list as soon as I get home this evening. I actually haven't watched CNN or HLN for quite a long time, except for the occasional snippets here and there. It's so obvious that they're trying to suck up to far right, who, won't have anything to do with them as long as they have Faux.

I still watch CNN International, BBC News and other international news sources. I've pretty much given up on our bought and paid for corporate media.

12. CNN doesn't realize how bad they're screwing themselves.
Do they seriously believe that they'll pick up a conservative audience? The Right Wingnuts have had "Liberal Media" drilled into their heads for so long that they'd sooner vote Democrat then watch what they call the "Communist News Network". CNN will always be considered liberal by the right regardless of the changes they make...

14. Yes, the Bush administration is putting their people in place to block
all the scandals that are about to explode.

Cancel them!! Stop paying for cable and tell them why!! This is a plot. Remember, this administration PAID journalists to put out their point of view.

You can email them, call them, it will do NO GOOD!

The ONLY thing that will do any good is to TAKE AWAY THEIR MONEY. I've already done it. It was hard at first, but I do not miss them. I will NOT fund the enemy!!

I canceled long ago. Told the cable company there was nothing to watch. Cable rep asked if I had tried Fox News. Boy, did that get a good belly laugh!

17. They are just setting things in place for the republican 'victory' in "06
and the lead-up to the republican "victory' in '08..

It's pretty obvious that there will be little discussion of the corruption in the GOP or any of the scandals that dwarf the Monica debacle.

prepare for an onslaught of dem-bashing...or just give up on them alltogether and don't even watch.

Try sending snail mail letters to CNN decrying the hiriing of these isiots and get friends to do the same.. a snail mail letter is worth several emails since it takes more time and thought..

Here's hoping the ratings suck and they get canned.

21. The truly funny (and sad at the same time) thing is, Fox will still beat
them in the ratings, because they have the RW, knuckle-dragging "brand" already. The whole thing is geared towards simple mindless pushing of hate buttons, that CNN will always be branded the "Clinton News Network" etc. to the kind of idiots who would watch FAUX anyway.
