Poll: Most say politics beat page safety {Actual Yahoo Headline}
I guess I see where they were headed with this, but, I think it needs to be asked, Can you actually EVER beat a page safely? If so, why would you, and surely your constituents wouldn't approve. Would they? :rofl:

Most Americans say the House Republican leadership worried more about politics than the safety of congressional pages in the case of disgraced former Rep. Mark Foley (news, bio, voting record), according to polls. Most also say Democrats would not have handled the situation better.

Republicans have come under criticism for their response to Foley, who sent sexually explicit messages to teenage male pages. GOP House leaders have faced questions whether they acted promptly to deal with the Florida congressman.

People were split on whether House Speaker
Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., should step down, with just under half saying he should, according to several polls.

2. What's sad is that they'd be damaged less if he was trying to do THAT kind
of beating on pages. The rather pleasant and loving way in which he was trying to "beat" the page is what's getting him in trouble.
