University instructor likens Bush to Hitler.

Barrett, a part-time instructor who holds a doctorate in African languages and literature and folklore from UW-Madison, is active in a group called Scholars for 9/11 Truth. The group's members say U.S. officials, not al-Qaida terrorists, were behind the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.

"Like Bush and the neocons, Hitler and the Nazis inaugurated their new era by destroying an architectural monument and blaming its destruction on their designated enemies," he wrote.

He added: "Hitler had a good 20 to 30 IQ points on Bush, so comparing Bush to Hitler would in many ways be an insult to Hitler."

12. Hitler had police powers to get people to vote for him

In the 1933 election, Hitler was already chancellor and had been given police powers as well as suspension of the free press. Despite this the Nazis only got 44% of the vote. In reality, Bush and Hitler were both appointed.

Hitler as well as Bush are specific and particular cases of sui generis, so odd, so unique in their own special ways that they deny comparison with anyone in the past, present, or future.

13. I think the comparison is flawed

The difference between Hitler and Bush is that Hitler actively pursued genocide as a means to his goal of German greatness. Bush isn't the kind of person who will pursue genocide to achieve his goals, which basically involve the complete destruction of the middle class. Bush is the kind of person who will sit there with his head up his ass while people are dying (Katrina) and not act on it unless it's in his personal interest to do so. To further this, look at Prescott Bush. I doubt that Prescott hated Jews enough that he would've hauled them off to death camps. But he had no objection to it because it led to his profit. Hitler actively killed mass amounts of his beliefs. The Bush family doesn't believe inherently in killing mass amounts of people, they certainly don't give a shit if mass amounts of people aren't being killed.
