She just, once again, used logic and facts to put a fundie in his place.

2. She can be great. But she can insult people who are AGREEING with her.

But, she won't slow down to listen to what they are saying. She just yells at them. Then I have to change the station. I have heard her do this more than once.

Randi runs on discussion energy when people stall her she gets annoyed, but its that energy that we like so much.... but yes it makes me cringe sometimes... Thom doesn't do that...

5. Definitely a mixed bag with her

She can be insightful and funny. But she can also be heavy-handed and didactic. Even if a caller agrees with her they have a tough time getting a word in edgewise, and her interviews tend to consist of a whole lot of her lecturing the interviewee. Sometimes I find her hard to take in large doses.

9. She launched into a lecture with me once

I let her finish and then answered. We had a great conversation, and in fact, I was much of the segment.

If you interrupt her, you're going to get talked over, no matter which side you're on. I've also heard her mistreat a caller and apologize the next day and then read a lengthy e-mail from him.

With the rwer, she let him talk. He let her talk. As much as he had idiotic arguments, they did have a pretty civil discusssion.

4. I was talking to a young fundie last night.

He recently graduated from law school and does not have a job. He is in complete support of the war. I asked him why he didn't join up and he said he could not pass the physical. However, he was unable to say why he could not pass the physical.

I asked him why he supported the war and he responded "Because of the genocide" and then went on to say we didn't need a reason to start the war and didn't need a reason to keep it going.

He was in complete support of this war for no reason at all. I was amazed.

I just walked away - ya can't fight no logic was logic.

The guy was just thinking fuzzily after years of FAUX and Rush bombardments on his mind.

At the end, he seemed dazed and confused, his "talking points" annihilated, and ceding to Randi's arguments, one by one, usually with a "yeah, I guess, but..." Then on to the next point.

I found it impressive.
