Rep. Shays attacks Ted Kennedy: "Dennis Hastert didn't kill anybody"

http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/news_theswamp/2006/10/pages_how_bout_.html#more

<snip>

But when Sen. Edward M. Kennedy went to Connecticut last week to help her campaign, Rep. Christopher Shays hit back.

"I know the speaker didn't go over a bridge and leave a young person in the water, and then have a press conference the next day," said Shays, (R, Conn.) referring to the 1969 incident in which the Massachusetts Democrat drove a car that plunged into the water and a young campaign worker died.

"Dennis Hastert didn't kill anybody," he added.

...

"We don't know what he has or hasn't done," Shays said of Hastert. "But she had a fundraiser for Sen. Kennedy, and we know what he did."

Farrell was incredulous - "my jaw dropped," she said, when she heard Shays' comments, and she said Chappaquiddick had nothing to do with Hastert's current plight.

14. and when Laura Bush campaigns for people who won't
Edited on Wed Oct-11-06 09:24 AM by liberaldemocrat7
stand to campaign with the chimp, Laura took one out years ago too. How ironic, if Laura didn't take her boyfriend out in a car crash she might not have married the death chimp.

The Republican party has caused quite a bit of death at home.

Let us say a prayer for those who died

in New Orleans because the Bush administration did nothing for 5 days after the levees flooded and over 1,000 people died.

in coal mines because the Bush Mine administration looked the other way when Sago mine owners and other mine owners did not make their mines safe to the extent that they should have to protect miners who had died especially in the Sago mine.

in their Ford Explorer SUVs with Firestone tires in the 1990's because the immoral Republican led congress would not regulate car companies and tire companies sufficiently to an extent to catch unsafe tires and SUVs.

after taking vioxx and other medications after the Bush FDA looked the other way.

because of the Medicare part D coverage gap leaving disabled and elderly people who cannot afford medications they needed.

died under Republican NASA administrations who wanted to launch over the objections of engineers leading to the deaths of 14 astronauts dying in explosions.

3. Standard freeper knee-jerk response to ANYTHING said by Kennedy.
They have nothing else - whatever Kennedy says or does, is negated by Chappaquiddick. It's automatic and reflexive from a freeper's tiny mind.

5. Are we SURE Hastert hasn't killed anybody?
Has anyone checked his folds for any decaying teenaged boys that may have gotten stuck there?

Just sayin!

7. LOLOLS, again I say....
I'ts all Clintons fault, because he was for it before he was against it, and liberal moonbats wear tin foil hats Ted Kennedy killed a woman and as the Iraqis stand up we'll stand down because if our troops come home terrorists will follow them and Al Gore said he invented the internet because Kerry said terrorists were just a nuisance and liberals just need to get over it and their war on christmas or their war on easter shows that Dean screamed and George Soros gives money to moveon.org who wants us to cut and run rather than adapt to win.

So there.

because of him and his party's illegal war, he's right, Dennis Hastert hasn't killed anybody.

11. This is how you know they have nothing else.
If you have to use something that happened nearly 4 decades ago that no one really even cares about anymore, you know there's something wrong.

12. a PUKE is a PUKE is a PUKE is a PUKE.
Shays is a PUKE. All PUKES are slime: ALL OF THEM. I don't know one I'd trust any farther than I could throw it with both arms broken.

I have no PUKE friends; I have no PUKE relatives; I do not associate with PUKES if I can avoid it at small cost.

17. I hate Shays as well...
...I'm in his district and you have to hear his radio ads.

The whole ad is basically "I'm not Bush".

That's his whole campaign and it's pretty amusing.

What is one pedophile and his porkbellied protector compared to institutionalized slavery?"

24. I don't think drudging up a 37-year old case is relevant with what
is happening today. I don't think this is going to help the "moderate" Shay's one bit.
