Bring it on

You would think the past six years haven’t happened. Following closely in ABC’s and Fox’s footsteps, Senator John McCain became the latest in a long line of right wingers to blame President Clinton for failures on this president’s watch.

It’s a sure sign of desperation when the party that accepts no responsibility for its failure to prevent 911, for deriding the previous administration’s “obsession with Osama” as being naive, for failing to capture Bin Laden, for misleading the country to pursue of a long-coveted war with Iraq, for busting the budget, for praising each other as Americans died for their negligence in Katrina, for shredding the Constitution or even for failing to protect minors from a known predator in their ranks, can do no better than point to an administration that has not held power for six years when confronted with yet another crisis under its watch.

It is now clear that the elephant is imploding under its own weight. It has grown fat on cronyism, coercion and corruption, and its days are numbered.

Let them point to Clinton for this and all future events that turn sour under their watch. It will play well, as it always does, to the unreachable drones under their control. To the rest, it exposes them as the cowardly, pathetic failures they are, and reminds all Americans of a time of peace and prosperity and when “scandal” meant adultery between consenting adults as opposed to death and destruction and child predation.

Bring on November.
