New slogans to appear on a media outlet near you soon. Stay tuned.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061010/ap_on_go_pr_wh/school_safety_2

"WASHINGTON - Compelled to respond to a spike in school violence, the Bush administration is hoping that a high-profile summit will get the word out about safety....

Four weeks before the midterm elections, the event allows Bush to return to the politically safe issue of education and child safety. But the federal role in making schools safer is limited because education remains mainly a local matter. The White House chose to host a national sharing of ideas, hoping to seize a moment when people are focused on preventing violence.

Two Cabinet members, Education Secretary Margaret Spellings and Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, will lead panel discussions. First lady Laura Bush is also scheduled to speak.

No new policies are expected; strategies for keeping schools safe are widely known. But experts say schools often don't get serious about safety until shootings make headlines...."

Yippee!! I figured out how to use those formatting commands finally!!! Party, party, party!!!! Yeah!

1. Let's see,
he wants to increase school security. But he completely eliminated the money that WAS in the budget for school security.

I know, I know (wildly waving hand)...close the schools. If there's nobody there, then we don't have to worry about them.

6. No no silly
You sell off the schools to cooperations that now how to protect themselves and our kids.
And it would be a new stream of revenue that could be given to the cooperations for war material and services.
This administration is not inept at profitable undermining of social institutions

Shit I had a dream last that woke me up at 4am that I now understand after reading the OP so I might as well share it here.
It was about a re accruing dream that I have about a place that is like a large building like an aircraft hanger. And there are a lot of cool people there with all kinds of interesting inventions and stuff. And these cool people are kind of wild with the smoking of pot and even growing it out back of the hanger and some sexual activity too.
But this time I go back there they are all acting weird and strange and doing strange things and I see noting that they do is interesting. Then one of them takes me aside and points out some cameras and shows me pictures of all kinds of pornographic things
That is when I wake up.
What do you think did i imagine the fit I see?

3. What about that 160 MILLION little boots CUT from school security?
What's he gonna replace that with? Is he going to privatize security at our schools for ten times that amount? Halliburton thugs at our elementary schools?

our idiot Repub governor is proposing that teachers carry guns in school.

12. How many school shootings are there?

Isn't this something that generates a disproportionate amount of news coverage because of where it happens?
