But 63% of the voters still like their own reps
This is what worries me. Yes, most voters do not trust Bush, think we are on the wrong track, would prefer Democrats to control Congress... but can we - at least the party - actually count the races where we can take over - and keep the ones we already have - to really change hands?

2. I tried to point this out the other night, but got slammed.
I was ridiculed for this kind of thinking. But you are spot-on...everybody bitches about everyone else's Congressmen, but they always tend to re-elect their own. If everybody re-elects their own Congressman and expects everyone else to dump theirs, we're all just as fucked because we'll just get the same pile of shit.

3. Yes
Just because people like their reps doesn't mean they are going to re-elect them. Just like in 1994, people may say, "I like you personally, but its time for a change. So I'm gonna vote for X." I imagine many folks present in the polls showing us ahead in republican districts like their representative, but they just want a change.

10. I hope that you are right
I doubt that my moderate, at least, non-rabid, Republican Congressman will lose. A Republican district where he is careful not to make mistakes.

7. What you are not grasping is that the polls show each individual race
and those are the local people talking.

9. Considering 98% usually get elected
that's not a bad stat.

11. The Majority will ALWAYS approve of their Rep, most Dems are represented
by Dems and most Reps are represented by Reps. That's why there's only 50-60 competitive seats in this election. I, for example, approve of my congressmen, (D) Rob Andrews of NJ.
