Did anyone see Jim Webb's anti-war ad?? WOW!
I thought it was a World Can't Wait ad or a UFPJ ad til Jim Webb appeared.

I swear to god it's the first explicitly anti-war ad or news piece I've seen in the broadcast media in four years!

Images of violence in Iraq intercut with static and Bush repeating lines over and over: "Stay the course / Stay the course..."

Cut to Jim Webb saying: "America needs a new course. We need to end the war in Iraq and stabilize the Middle East..."

1. I wonder
How well that will play in Virginia? I can see that being very successful in some parts of the country but the South is a hard sell when it comes to stuff like that.

2. Read the polls....over 60% are pissed about
this damn war. And that includes the South. This war costs $2 BILLION a week. Think of what we could with that $...we could buy ourselves out of slavery from CHINA.

5. Polls?
In case you haven't noticed, the polls haven't exactly been accurate in the last few years.

We depend FAR too much on shitty polling data.

7. I have a feeling that the "polls" have painted a more rosey
picture than the actual reality. I wouldn't be surprised if, now that N Korea is nuclear, that the Republican Party is smashed into non-existance if not by the election in November then within the next two years. As in...

No more GOP.

10. Then go out and talk to some people.....
start a conversation while standing in check-out lane of your local grocery. Americans are pissed. They know they're getting screwed. And it may just get them to the 'polls' this year...and yes, I know all about Diebold...they're HQed here.

One of the best I've seen in a while.

Can't wait for the debate tomorrow (it will be on CSPAN at 8PM). I wonder if Allen will be asked about this: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061008/ap_on_el_se/allen_in_business

11. great commercial - thanks for the link
I hope Webb brings that up, but at the tail end of the laundry list of scandals - as in

"... racial slurs and now this OTHER financial deal where you failed to disclose stock options - are you sure that subconsciously even YOU think you don't belong in the Senate. You are certainly doing everything you can to make yourself apprear unfit to serve there."

9. I saw it in Roanoke
I think Webb has a great shot at winning. I love this new ad and look forward to seeing how he does this last month of the campaign.

14. Saw it again! "The people responsible for creating this disaster..."
"Are not the ones who will get us out of Iraq."

On the nightly news and again on Jay Leno.
