Tucker Carlson Claims There's Another Page-ophile
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2006/10/08/tucker-carlson-foleys-_n_31230.html">link

The "one or more additional pedophile congressman/congressmen" rumor (or paranoia or whatever) has been floating around since the Foley scandal broke, but everything I've seen of heard about "others" has amounted (so far, anyway) to nothing.

Anyone seen or heard anything more substantive?

6. repressed people are into weird shit to begin with
so they repress themselves and assume all others need to do the same thing. They don't realize that it is only they who are constantly tempted into doing shit like this. To most folk, pedophilia is a sickness of the mind. To repressed folks, it's a sin that needs to be repressed.

3. There was something on the ABC news
Gibson asking Ross if more names would likely surface. Ross said they'd been getting e-mails and he thought there would be more. That was about a week ago, I think, so I don't know what all is going on. Maybe nothing panned out, and maybe ABC is backing up the story.

It'd be nice if a bunch of other R's surfaced.

Actually I've been stopping by DU for quite some time, but a severe scarcity of leisure time prevents me from being very active.

DU surely can be a terrific resource, though.

I believe you're correct
It was that guy (or woman). The person who wore blue a lot (but also had on other colors). You usually saw the person standing (or sitting).
I know who you're talking about. That one.

Second Republican congressman snared in page sex scandal?
by John in DC - 10/07/2006 08:03:00 AM

Denny Hastert has put me in a difficult position.

I've heard rumors. Unsubstantiated talk. No proof yet. But I've heard things. Just like I heard things about Mark Foley this past July. This time I've heard things about a relatively senior Republican member of the House, and also about someone on the Speaker's own staff. Both rumors seem relevant to this story as it's unfolding.

So here's my dilemma. Denny Hastert says that if I don't report the unsubstantiated allegations I've heard, I'm a criminal. But the thing is, I'm also a journalist, and a good human being. I don't think it's right to print unsubstantiated rumors I've heard, rumors that could make life quite difficult for this Republican congressman and this senior member of Hastert's staff.

10. A "former page" stated in a blog last week
Edited on Sun Oct-08-06 06:17 PM by mzteris
that they'd been "warned" about two others.....

edit to correct Subject (from article to blog) and add link/statement:

"When I was a Congressional Page in 1998, we pages were warned by former pages AS WELL as staffers in the house and page program to BEWARE and stay away from 3 GOP members of Congress due to past history and inappropriate behavior with other pages. Obviously Foley has resigned and we are grateful.

Although 2 members of Congress (at least that I know of and was warned of) still remain.
Let me say this: it doesnt end with the members of congress; high level staffers are doing the same thing!!

12. Here ya go......a reliable tease

Thus Speaks John Aravosis:

http://americablog.blogspot.com/2006/10/second-republican-congressman-snared.html

So what do I do? Do I publish unsubstantiated rumors about a GOP congressman and one of Denny Hastert's top aides? I don't want to, I don't think it's right, but Denny Hastert says he'll sic the FBI on me for hurting children if I don't. And he'll probably end up blaming Nancy Pelosi if my rumors turn out to be true and I didn't go public with them.

So what do I do? Maybe I'll just call Denny Hastert's office on Monday, tell them what I've heard, and let them decide how comfortable they are with the Speaker's new standard of justice.
