Rice says Iraq making progress
http://www.registerguard.com/news/2006/10/06/a3.int.warriceexp.1005.p1.php?section=nation_world

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Wearing a helmet and a flak jacket and flanked by machine-gun-toting bodyguards to defend against insurgents, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice came here Thursday, insisting that there were new signs of progress in Iraq and that the Bush administration had never sugarcoated its news about the U.S. occupation.

``It is a quite critical time for the Iraqi government,'' Rice said of the reasons for her brief, unannounced visit to the Iraqi capital.

``What the American people see on their television screens is the struggle,'' she said. ``It is harder to show the political process that is going on at local levels, at provincial levels and indeed at the national level.'' Iraqis, she said, are ``making progress.''

10. Well, ...it's just that the progress they
are making is going in reverse, or perhaps "progress" is the Iraqi word for black beans or something.

12. Um, ok. I'm all ears. What progress do you mean, in particular?
I'd genuinely like to know because every ounce of me wants those poor people in that country to have progress and see brighter days. What they have gone through and what they are going through drives me mad with fury, guilt, and shame.

So by all means, comfort us all with your good news of progress!

Sadly, all Condi has to offer is lies lies lies propaganda and lies. There isn't any progress. Who does she think she's kidding? The Iraqi's? The soldiers? Nope, just the Republican base, I suspect. Integrity inshmegrity. She really is a disgusting slimy snake.
