Clark stumps for Lamont, slams Lieberman on war
"George Bush says stay the course," Clark said. "How can you stay the course when you're in a ditch? Joe Lieberman has been part of that ditch."

He added, "The truth is, (Lieberman) didn't control the steering wheel, but he was sort of supporting the elbow of the guy who drove us into the ditch."

Nice work.

1. I love the old man in the crowd:
"He got voted out, if he was a true Democrat, he shouldn't have ran against you. He's only making it harder for you."

4. ANYONE going out of their way to publically support Bush is NO Democrat
and anyone who does it for 4 years in a very public way has earned nothing but distrust.

7. I prefer Gore but if Clark is willing to work like this I'll support him
in 08. He's earning it one whistle stop at a time.

8. While I like Clark, I question his ability to affect elections...
I agree with him 150% on everything he says. I've read his books. Listed to his speeches. I find him to an extremely intellectual champion of foreign policy.

Unfortunately, I don't think he connects with average Americans. He's too intellectual. Too smart. He's not really a political animal.

9. That view discounts how
far he got in 04 starting in Mid Sept 03. He finished a very close third to 2 Pols that had a huge head start in Iowa. Additionally he is A Retired General in the Democratic National Primary how many of those have there been? Hes got a lot more of something than you are seeing.

10. Also, he was beating W in polls - then they stopped polling HIM against *
and ignoring him in favor of less threatening possibilities.
After the race he was telling stories of people of all walks of life/political spectrum stopping him on airports "why didn't you stay in the race? I would have voted for you"
he came from humble beginnings and lead unlisted men in battle - he does know a thing or two about how to relate to people.
