Swann and Rendell debated tonight...
I didn't see the whole thing, but Swann really can't talk. He also made up a word. He said we need to incent kids to do better on tests. Then he said we need to incent teachers to have the kids do better on tests. Who does he think he is, Bush? What is with these Repugs and the English language?

1. I saw Swann once on George Steph's show.
He is literally as dumb as a box of rocks. In fact, a box rocks just might be a little smarter.

3. That "incent" jargon is a business buzzword.
MBA's are all saying "incent" these days. I find tthe term stupid and annoying. But then I find MBA's are frequently stupid and annoying.

4. Thank you for explaining that...
I never heard the term before, and I hope I never hear it again. It really sounded stupid.

5. It IS stupid...
Words and phrases such as:

"Democrat Party"

"Defense"...as in 'You have to defense this team closely or they'll run the football."

"Nuculer"- first time I heard that was Melvin Laird, the Sec'y of Defense (see last entry(!))

"Irregardless"

"Notoreity" to indicate fame of any type, even favorable

I could go on and on. These phrases get on many people's last nerve...
