If Bush believed Congress gave him the power to fight terrorism in any fashion he wanted, why did he want the Patriot Act passed? It seems to me if Congress gave him a blank check i.e. wiretaps without a warrant, you would not need a Patriot Act.

1. Forget logic...the point was to nail down total power every way....
from Sunday so political opponents couldn't take a dump without their bowel movement size, shape, consistency and odor being recorded for use against them.

2. And why the talk of going back to Congress now?
If he was right, he was right... we know he was wrong, but why say he is going back now if he was so firm in his beliefs. Lies on top of lies...

3. He didn't think it, is only using it as an excuse now
Now that he got caught, he is saying "but I thought I could!"

Beware, asking these type questions of Our Mighty Leader may get you classified as a thought criminal.

Why do you hate America?

Good question, but too logical.

4. Who's the good guy and who's the bad guy?
Look at what * is doing. No trials for the "terrorists". He's done his best to hide as much 9-11 evidence as possible. No other country can try "terrorists" because the US won't allow evidence because it messes with security. Nothing has been done to stop "terrorists" coming into our country. The no-fly list stops more non-terrorists who seem more to be political activists or anti-* than anything else.

The Patriot Act seems to be more against us then the "terrorists". * is shredding the Constitution. Only we get hurt by that. Homeland Security is given power to stop us during emergencies. In fact, everything coming out about HS and Patriot Act is stopping we citizens from protesting * and his illegal activites. It seems the real people who are government is afraid of is us. I see no indication they want terrorism stopped. Especially since they're doing a lot of the terrorist acts - Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.
