It’s time to take off our gloves and start fighting back
October 3, 2006 | Self

Posted on 10/03/2006 6:20:03 AM PDT by jmaroneps37

Okay, we’ve been knocked on our butts by the Foley disgrace. We never expected trouble in that district but it is here. What do we do now? Do we sit sucking our thumbs crying about the MSM and Democrat dirty tricks? I don’t think so and if you are reading this on FreeRepublic, you really don’t think so either.

First we need to mentally step back (don't hurt yourselves!)

snip

When the stimulus is constant it disappears. If we use clear arguments for American freedoms we will beat hysteria over the Foley case. What’s on the table. We are the political adults. Democrats are the political children. They believe, as a child would, that if we roll up into a ball the terrorists will leave us alone.

snip

They see this as merely a way to get back into power so they can surrender and hope for the best. To Democrats power of party is more important that America’s safety. Some Democrats hate us as much as the terrorists hate us and the Democrats, although being children, Democrats refuse to understand this. Some Democrats hate George Bush more than they love America. Nevertheless, hate can only take you so far.Hate can be a powerful motivator but love of country is stronger.

snip

Our country needs us. This great nation is under attack from enemies both foreign and domestic. If we don’t win this fight no one will.

We, the conservatives who meet on FR run this country. The very success of this nation is the product of our hard work and sacrifices. We pay the bills. We fight the wars. We don’t quit. We push weak kneed cowards like the Democrats out of the way so we can run TO the fight, passing them as the ran away.

Let’s take the fight to them!

snip

Write letters to your local Democrat controlled newspaper. People who think read these letters. Thinking people are our best source of new voters. Under assumed names I have done this many times.

Under my real name I have written a letter to the Washington Times demanding that because their Human Resources Director is a pervert, the Editorial page editor should resign. The data is in here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1710193/posts

snip

The Final 72 Hours

One of the reasons we won in 2000 and 2004 was the Get Out The Vote operations we ran all over the country. (umm - you won because you stole the elections While we had volunteers who were fighting for the freedom of America. The Democrats put out paid union thugs and dirty looking hippie types. I know. I saw them when I worked the 72 hour push in Pennsylvania in 2004. We did great work. We helped local candidates and most importantly we FORCED the Democrats to put people in Pennsylvania that they wanted to put in Ohio. We did help George Bush get re- elected.

It’s all in our hands not their hands. We can hide under our beds and fret about what is coming or stand tall, talk loud, be proud and fight back because we are the only hope America has right now.

Let’s get fighting.

At least this guy isn't afraid to take on that bastion of liberal philosophy, the Washington Times. Good grief. :eyes:

If I didn't know better, I'd assume that most of what people post on here from that forum is pure sarcasm and parody.

40. in 1972 and 74 I was a dem party poll watcher in IA
Both parties sent representatives (with credentials) to each precinct to sit at the desk with the precinct officials and check off the names of the people in our parties who came in to vote. When we left, we took the sheets to the precinct captain who then took them off the list to be called and reminded to vote.

In 74 there was a LONG line of people waiting to vote (that was the year the democrats won BIG in congress). Every time a young, college age type came in (especially if they looked sort of vaguely 'hippy'), the republican poll watchers (they had 2, we only had 1 -- it was a big republican precinct)would say to me 'That one's yours.'

Do we sit sucking our thumbs crying about the MSM and Democrat dirty tricks?

Isn't that what Hannity and Rush do on a daily basis? Everything that goes wrong is the fault of the MSM and the democrats. Never mind our complicity, they reported it so it's their fault.

Seriously, you're right. It ultimately needs to be a battle of ideas. And usually, the republicans are closer to being the adults than the democrats. But sadly, they have become corrupt with power rather than ideas. We are basically at the same point as we were during the check writing scandals and Jim Wright's abuses of power. The problem is it's our side of the aisle that has the Jim Wrignt's and the Rosenkowski's.

We used those issues against the democrats as well as Clinton's issues with force and glee. So why do we cry foul when they use our setbacks against us?

We need to step back, hold those involved accountable, bandage our wounds and go forward with a message and ideas. Not ideas of what we are against, but what we are for. Not ideas of who we are against, but why we are better equipped to handle the issues.

We don't do that. We blame the democrats and the media. Guess that plays better in Peoria

21. I have to admit....
I do hate bush* more than I love America. I'm just not that enamored of pieces of earth that much. What I did love were the ideals that the United States of America once stood for: Freedom, Equality and Justice. The right wing nut jobs have taken the last of those away by enacting a law that deprives us of our Writ of Habeas Corpus so what is there to love? Our freedoms have been stripped by the "Patriot Act", equality has long since gone replaced by a new two-tiered caste system of the haves and the have-nots, and of course we are no longer allowed to even ask if our own imprisonment is legal in court.

So yes, I hate bush* more than I love America, and I hate him even more for making it so.

37. Oh, that's another laff riot (excerpted below)
He's trying to make a point that Denny Hastert resigning has nothing to do with Foley's ... erm... issues.

It's a very poor point. The editorial page editor does not have responsibility over an HR person, as Denny (R-Bratwurst) does, and whoever does would only be held responsible if he were covering up a HR person's indiscretions, as Denny was.

But whence does this episode of Really Bad Analogies come?

The human resources director of The Washington Times has been arrested on charges of soliciting a teenager for sex on the Internet.

D.C. police say 53-year-old Randall Casseday of Dobbs Ferry, New York, was arrested Tuesday night in Northeast Washington. He had allegedly arranged to meet what he believed was a 13-year-old girl he had been corresponding with in an online chat room. The person he was communicating with was a detective with the department's Internet Crimes Against Children branch.

Casseday, who rents a room in the Washington area, was charged with attempted enticement of a minor and was due to appear Thursday in U.S. District Court.

Brian Bauman, a spokesman for the Times, says the company is cooperating with authorities and that Casseday has been suspended without pay pending the results of the investigation.
