The PAGES are PATRIOTS

It has occurred to me, among all the threads asking "who leaked the emails" about Foley, that it was actually the pages themselves, talking to a reporter.

And the question of motive immediately arrives: why would they wait until just before an election?

Think about being in their position for a minute:

Raising such an allegation against a powerful group (RW lawmakers with a RW administration) is a terrifying proposition, especially given all the laws to take away civil liberties. They could easily disgrace you, your family and possibly bring legal, political, financial and other retributions upon you. People have been known to 'disappear'.

Now, you see the RW grab for ultimate power: NSA Spying, Torture, and another illegal War looming, this time, against a more powerful enemy, Iran.

You know you and your fellow pages have been abused by the power hungry republicans in power who have become so drunk with their power, that it not only has corrupted their thinking, but also their souls and their behavior. They are well on their way to taking America down.

You know that you do not want them to continue in power. You talk it over with other pages who have been abused by this sick group's power, and you know there is only one right thing to do: break the story now, before the republicans have a chance to steal another election.

These boys who have come to the table to discuss their abuse by the republicans in power should be rewarded as brave patriots, not only standing up for themselves, but also for their country. Whoever they are, while i feel terribly sick for what has been done to them, I also feel proud that they have the bravery and honor to stand up for America.

5. A cautionary note....older pages are probably College Republicans

I fully expect to see a barrage of stories with Pages accusing Democrats. The cases will probably not go anywhere, but they may well muddle the issue in the eyes of the voter. Just sayin'....

8. I don't care what political party they belong to

The pages that are coming forward about this abuse are courageous. And if pages came forward claiming Democrats were guilty of the same thing, they better be telling the truth. If they are, I expect the Democrats who are acused to pay the same price. If any pages end up making false allegations, they deserve the backlash that comes to them.

The pages that have come forward about Foley obviously are telling the truth, otherwise, this story would be focusing on the pages and Foley would not have resigned.

I was just gonna say, I hate to rain on everyone's happy outrage parade-but some other post about how tragic it all is-look they weren't even touched-and they were raving about the joy of working for George Bush. Basically they are little brainwashed teenagers from very privileged families, no doubt. NO, they don't deserve the horror of a sexual e-mail-but on the list of outrages I've seen lately, the horror of this is lost on me. God forbid you are a dissenting voice on DU.

12. You do not know what you are talking about.

Nearly half the pages are selected by Democratic lawmakers. They serve our country and live away from home in dormatories. They still attend school while working in the Congress. Some, certainly, come from privelaged homes, but I'll wager that some do not.

a flurry of accusations suddenly coming at Democrats. This issue is murder for Republicans....they will react by devious projection. At least that's their MO. Only time will tell. Just sayin'
