I think Rove shot his load earlier than he had wanted... the gov't has had this tape in their possesion for YEARS. NOW it suddenly surfaces? In the British press? Very clever. NOT. What better way to distract from the ballooning Foley mess and get the Sunday political shows to switch back to their FAVORITE topic: Terra terra Terra. Ooooga Boooga... it's Mohammad Atta on tape- I'm so scared! I HAVE to vote Republican!

Seriously. I think they've been sittting on this and were gong to 'leak' it closer to election time. And I think it shows their desperation-- this old video doesn't have quite the sensational bang that a pedophile in Congress aided and abetted by the GOP leadership has.

If this is the best they've got, a 6 year-old, silent 'martyrdom' tape, they really ARE out of gas.

I realized that about an hour ago. ANY attack on Iran would cause an oil panic. We could hit $100 a barrel overnight. If the world believes he's insane enough to attack Iran, without a single ally, they'll believe he's insane enough to do anything.

Right now, Bush has ordered a carrier into the area. He's trying to look tough with a show of force. But that won't work because he can't back it up. He either attacks or doesn't. If he attacks, gas prices go thru the roof. (Has he considered that? Probably not.)If he doesn't, the US looks weaker even than it looked last week or the week before.

If the Republicans win in November, even Monaco will be kicking sand in our face.
