As Much As I Despise Woodward, He Just EVISCERATED Bush
Destroyed him and left him a quivering mass of empty flesh.

2. I feel like it leaves something to be desired, like the one tidbit
that would've blown the doors off the White House.

Guess I was just longing for some of that Woodward of yesteryear.

My bad...

and can't (or won't) see the distance we've traveled thus far.

35. It doesn't matter if they read it or not
The important thing is that Woodward is on the air on 60 Minutes. That means several million will watch it, and then talk about it with several million others.... and it will be a topic on talk radio this week and be heard by millions more.

The important thing is how this is spun the next few days. If the spin is all negative, then it doesn't matter if only 500 people buy the book, as millions will have heard the juicy excerpts that eviscerate Team Bush.

6. Woodward has gravitas!

The flat delivery, the worn look--great theater.

The description of Bush 1 "in anguish" over Iraq and of the emasculated military chiefs are both stunning.

8. Sweet Jesus-did he say that Poppy was against the war?
Is that why Poppy has snuggled up to Big Dog? And this is just an observation (or feeling)- did Woodward look frightened to anyone in that interview? I think he's opened up a can of worms even he didn't want to know about-and he knows what happens those who dare tell the truth about BushInc.

22. That explains bush's repeated refrain a couple weeks ago
that his father was not in posession of all "classified" info that he, himself, had access to. Apparently the two of them were not in agreement on something important.

27. Woodward look frightened? Nah.
They wouldn't do anything to him now. What's the point? The book's already out. For pure revenge, maybe, but it would be too obvious. But you can bet bush's voodoo doll has Bob's name on it tonight. heh heh.

37. I understand your point
about the barn door being open and all...and you're right that Woodward isn't in personal danger. I just keep thinking about Danny Casolaro, Gary Webb and the man who wrote "Fortunate Son" (name escapes me at the moment). On some level, the Bushites will extract their pound of flesh.

30. Poppy wasn't an idiot
he may have had his faults, but I'd take 16 years of Poppy over 8 of Jr. any day.

He didn't invade Iraq the first time around -- I can't imagine he would be in favor of it the second.

9. Thank you very much Mr. Woodward
I can think of a couple thousand military families who might wish you had decided to destroy Bush, oh, say a couple of years ago. Were the parties worth it, Mr. Woodward? Were the teevee appearances worth all those lives, and all those billions of dollars? Did you make some nice royalties off your last two hagiographs? If you stuff enough dollars in your ears, can you block out the screams of the dead and the dying?

25. I think Woodward was like a lot of well of people who really
wanted to like Stupid, really wanted to believe in him, really wanted to approve of his stewardship of the country.

Those tax cuts didn't hurt.

He may be an example of just one more person who's awakened from his Reagan induced torpor.

42. Gotta Agree
I mean, it's one thing if Joe Average Voter gets stuck in ReaganWorld while he goes about doing the million other things he has to do in his life besides follow politics, but Woodward et al. get paid to be smart about politics and to know the score. These beyond-the-last-minute mea culpas are just way too little, way to late. There's no reason for these so-called professionals to be trusted ever again.

The bit about Kissinger was right on target, no wonder that old bastard has been in the news lately. He just KNOWS he can win this thing, just like he KNEW he could win Vietnam if it hadn't been for all those annoying people in his way who hated that war.

39. Kissinger--yeah, lets listen to someone who really knows how to lose a war
Chimp doesn't listen to his father--at least his earthly father--who won the Gulf war.

He doesn't listen to Colin Powell who helped Poppy win the Gulf War.

He certainly doesn't listen to Bill Clinton who brought some measure of peace to Yugoslavia.

His Decidership listens to HENRY KISSINGER a man who may be the world's greatest living expert on how to drag on a losing war for years.

41. Transcript on CBS..now this is scary..it shows that our President is
mentally unstable.. I strongly suggest reading the transcript ..but anyway
It gets to the part when Woodward asks Bush how he thought History would treat him over the Iraq war ..here's the quote

“And he said, ‘History,’ and then he took his hands out of his pocket and kind of shrugged and extended his hands as if this is a way off. And then he said, ‘History, we don’t know. We’ll all be dead.’”

Now that is scary..
