The Web site has attracted the attention of U.S. Rep. Neil Abercrombie, D-Honolulu, who debated Hall in Congress during Mariana Islands discussion in 1997.

“I have no problem with a spirited public debate in Congress, or in a campaign for election or re-election,” Abercrombie wrote in a letter to Hall dated Friday and provided to The Paris News.

“However, distorting a disagreement over labor conditions in the Marianas Islands into the scurrilous attack I have seen on a Web site sponsored by your opponent is patently offensive."

“These kinds of tactics serve no good purpose and do great harm to the advancement of the public’s trust and participation in our political processes" Abercrombie wrote to Hall.

progressive teaching asst. at the Univ. of HI when I was there. I had enormous respect for him until the last couple of years.
