Commentary: 'Fearless' Bush-baiter builds an empire

....Huffington Post, a freewheeling blog featuring dozens of columnists and breaking news, has emerged when the left wing doesn't seem to have a front-and-center media presence with the resources (Air America, we never knew ye!), chutzpah and sheer ambition to put the noisy, organized and affluent right wing back on its heels, for a change.
And with a major media tour underway in support of her new book, "On Becoming Fearless" (Little Brown), Huffington has yet another forum to use to communicate her strong opinions.
In business, Huffington combines the charm and can-do spirit of Oprah Winfrey with the entrepreneurial bent of Richard Branson....As Radar's Web site first reported, Huffington plans to introduce in November a blog devoted to political humor. "It will provide political and cultural satire in real time," she said, "featuring old-timers and newcomers."...

Predictably, Huffington has strong views on the shortcomings of the media and what she disgustedly calls The Cult of Objectivity.
"When we challenge the conventional wisdom, we enter The Cult," she said. "An edgy attitude is part of the bloodstream of our site. We don't accept the left-right prism. We have a clear world view."...
