Smirky blew his dog whistle
http://politicalwire.com/archives/2006/09/28/did_bush_b...

In a recent CNN interview, President Bush suggested history would judge the Iraq war as "just a comma." He repeated the statement today in Alabama. While it seems an odd thing to say, a Political Wire reader suggests it's designed to speak to the religious right while not unnecessarily alarming others. In other words, it's a classic example of "dog whistle politics" used to energize his base.

The Christian proverb Bush was evidently referring to is "Never put a period where God has put a comma." In essence, trust in God to make a bad situation better.

end snip

So, now he is saying put Iraq in God's hands. What, Smirky and the repugs can't do anything with it now, so give it to God? That's what you do, you know, when there is no other way out. Except Smirky could GET US THE HELL OUT OF THERE, but he will stay even if "Barney and Laura are the only one's supporting him". That explains Smirky's do nothing policy with everything, Suddan, Lebanon, Katrina, etc. Everything but torture, that is. Torture, for Smirky, is and always will be hands on. Can't leave that up to God. That and oil prices.

1. Bush put Iraq into God's hands? Reminds me of the guy on the roof
during a flood ...

Man comes along, says "Get in my car, I'll drive you to safety."

Roof guy says "No, God will keep me safe."

Waters rise, man comes along in a boat, says "Get in my boat, I'll get yo to safety."

Roof guy says "No, thanks. God will keep me safe."

Helicopter comes by, rescuer climbs down a rope and begs the man to come with him.

Roof guy says "No. My faith is in God. He will deliver me to safety."

Flood gets worse, guy drowns.

Roof guy goes before the Pearly Gates, angry as hell. Questions "Why didn't you keep me safe?"

God says, "Hey, you're the idiot ... I sent a car, a boat, and a helicopter, and you sent them away!"

----------------------------------------------------

We're trying to end the bloodshed, and Bush keeps dismissing it, waiting for a miracle ...

2. Whatever his reason for saying it, it didn't work.
I'm alarmed by his words. I had no idea what "just a comma" meant, but I took it to mean that in the history books, the Iraq war will be so insignificant that it will not even warrant a paragraph, but rather, just a comma.

3. It's not a Christian proverb, though. Gracie Allen said it.
And it has become the theme of the United Church of Christ's "Still Speaking" campaign - a denomination that is decidely anti-Shrub.

Though I'm sure that many on the right have also taken on Gracie's statement.

I'm not convinced that Shrubbie was using the phrase "just a comma" in reference to Allen's famous quip. He might very well have been, one never knows what the Christiam Triumphalist criminal asswipe is capable of.

4. "Just a comma" as in what one uses to separate components of a series...
Edited on Fri Sep-29-06 07:28 AM by Crankie Avalon
..such as our wars with, "Iraq, Iran, and who knows who else down the pike?"

Good thing he's too ignorant to know what an ellipsis is.

5. I really think the smirking dope
meant to use the word "footnote" but his Jack Daniels soaked brain mush blurted out comma, because he was just reaching for something he'd heard once upon a time. Just my $.02

and the gOD Iraq is going to is Allah.. who apparently isn't being too merciful these days.. there is going to be a Holocaust of revenge killings when we leave, i was in an Islamic Republic in the Peace Corps in 73 and they told us to be really careful about pissing people off because they held blood grudges all the way back to the days of Mohamed for some really minor things.. we were in a city, with a lot of tribal village people refugees.

when Bu$h said he heard the voices... he meant that LITERALLY..!!!! gOD told him to invade Iraq, so he cant leave with transgressing against gOD's will. and gOD saved him from alcohol and Cocaine and who knows what else.

that FOOL is Shame driven... that is really dangerous.!!!
