Open Letter to the Freepers Among Us

Recently there have a couple of articles exposing the right-wing infiltration of lefty blogs, one particular infiltration that we know of was perpetuated by a Congressional staffer who was using his employer's office to do his dirty work. When you use taxpayer equipment to play politics, it is illegal. Like an iceberg, most right-wing corruption is beneath the surface, so undoubtedly these are not isolated cases. Of course there are Freepers among us. Some are just lurking and more insidiously, some are probably even posting.

So listen up Freepers, I've got something I want to say to you.

You lurk here and you post here and you try to get us to squabble among ourselves. You are smug and you think you are so smart when you create dissension within our ranks. But you are missing the point here: we are liberals, progressives, independent minded people and DEMOCRATS. We are the thinkers and we do not blindly follow any mantra. You will never see us in lock step because we believe in liberty, freedom, justice and the power of diversity.

We will argue and we will squabble, but in the end, we will unite STRONGER for the debate. You can't hurt us through infiltration because dialog is our strength. We will never give up our values and we will never fall apart because you cannot destroy our faith. We believe in the power of justice and in our country. Your faith in the power of manipulation and lies will ultimately fail you as it has throughout history.

The tide is turning. All over America people are waking up and there is nothing you can do to stop it. America will not accept your poisoned vision of totalitarianism any longer.

2006 isn't about politics; it is about survival. We are in a battle for the existence of our republic. We will not succumb to your imperial rule. Our forefathers threw off the chains of imperialism and we can and will do it again.

So listen up: America is great because of people like us. We are reasonable and we are fair but push us to the wall and all bets are off. We don't suffer bullies for long.
