Is it fascism yet?
Edited on Thu Sep-28-06 08:30 PM by smoogatz
Let's see--we got kangaroo courts and secret prisons for everyone(!) and legalized torture and no more habeus. We got fixed elections. We got a continual state of war. We got a cowed and compliant corporate media. We got military power serving coporate interests. We got rampant government corruption. We got a hereditary political/corporate ruling class and a huge and growing divide between the richest of the rich and everybody else. We are officially a rogue state, defying international law, throwing out long-observed treaties and hell bent on ruling the world. Hmm--let me just consult my trusty pocket crapulator--yep, it all adds up to fascism. Me, I'm thinking the Dems will come within a whisker if winning back the House this year, and within one or two seats of winning back the Senate. But there'll be some "irregularities," you see, that make it hard to figure out exactly who the actual winner is in a few key races, and somehow all of those seats will get handed to Republicans by various boards of elections. I'm thinking Canada's looking better all the time. I'm thinking Norway, baby. Jesus Crispies, like the old song says--

"I believe, I believe my time ain't long..."

5. yes... but its now time to be American.. Draw deep within your
sense of what is true and right.. George Washington was branded a traitor at one time. He then became our first sitting President. If these men had the courage, we need to have the courage to persevere.
