Depleted Uranium Blowing Around The Atmosphere In The UK
The Queen's Death Star

Depleted Uranium Measured in British Atmosphere from
Battlefields in the Middle East

LEUREN MORET / Mindfully.org 26feb2006

"Did the use of Uranium weapons in Gulf War II result in contamination of Europe? Evidence from the measurements of the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE), Aldermaston, Berkshire, UK," reported the Sunday Times Online (February 19, 2006) in a shocking scientific study authored by British scientists Dr. Chris Busby and Saoirse Morgan.

The highest levels of depleted uranium ever measured in the atmosphere in Britain, were transported on air currents from the Middle East and Central Asia; of special significance were those from the Tora Bora bombing in Afghanistan in 2001, and the "Shock & Awe" bombing during Gulf War II in Iraq in 2003.

Out of concern for the public, the official British government air monitoring facility, known as the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE), at Aldermaston, was established years ago to measure radioactive emissions from British nuclear power plants and atomic weapons facilities.

The British government facility (AWE) was taken over 3 years ago by Halliburton, which refused at first to release air monitoring data to Dr. Busby, as required by law.

1. Halliburton? Talk about the fox guarding the hen-house! WTF???
The fact that they turned the facility over to Halliburton... it almost serves them right.

2. What a load of horse shit... there is nothing depleted about
"depelted uranium". Anyone with a little bit of knowledge knows that. Does anyone remember their highschool Chem teacher explaining 1/2 lifes. A nuclear war is going on, it just doesn't look like a mushroom cloud anymore.

5. I remember, and that's why 'depleted' is indeed accurate
because depleted uranium has very little of the isotope that is highly active, and has a relatively short half life; it consists overwhelmingly of the low activity, long half life isotope.

So what's your problem with 'depleted'?

6. because it is deceiving that it isn't radio-active. It is. It is still
very dangerous and should not be in used in warfare. Now the effects are clear. This is something that we don't need or want in the earth's atmosphere. It is something we don't want our soldiers exposed to. It is WMD that we unleash on the world.

4. DU: Armageddon has already happened and we do not see it
Not only has Iraq, Afghanistan, and Bosnia been contaminated with depleted uranium, so has southern Lebanon. Furthermore, DU is spreading via atmospheric dispersion. Genetic damage, shortened lifespans, and assorted diseases caused by DU are on the horizon.

8. This is a classic case of
chickens coming home to roost. Poor Europe - maybe they can think about the volume of depleted uranium that the innocent people of the ME faced as a result of this illegal invasion.

9. Our warfighters have already gotten alot of exposure to this over
in Iraq. Enjoy your permanent bases, boyz! This is why the rest of the world doesn't allow the use of that evil crap.

13. The Trojan Horse of Nuclear War
Depleted Uranium:
The Trojan Horse of Nuclear War

LEUREN MORET / World Affairs – The Journal of International Issues 1jul04

Heat not a furnace for your foe so hot that it do singe yourself.
William Shakespeare (1564-1616)

The use of depleted uranium weaponry by the United States, defying all international treaties, will slowly annihilate all species on earth including the human species, and yet this country continues to do so with full knowledge of its destructive potential.

LEUREN MORET

Since 1991, the United States has staged four wars using depleted uranium weaponry, illegal under all international treaties, conventions and agreements, as well as under the US military law. The continued use of this illegal radioactive weaponry, which has already contaminated vast regions with low level radiation and will contaminate other parts of the world over time, is indeed a world affair and an international issue. The deeper purpose is revealed by comparing regions now contaminated with depleted uranium — from Egypt, the Middle East, Central Asia and the northern half of India — to the US geostrategic imperatives described in Zbigniew Brzezinski’s 1997 book The Grand Chessboard.

Fig. 1: Brzezinski’s map of the Eurasian Chessboard

SOUTH REGION:  “This huge region, torn by volatile hatreds and surrounded by competing powerful neighbors, is likely to be a major battlefield, both for wars among nation-states and, more likely, for protracted ethnic and religious violence.  Whether India acts as a restraint or whether it takes advantage of some opportunity to impose its will on Pakistan will greatly affect the regional scope of the likely conflicts.  The internal strains within Turkey and Iran are likely not only to get worse but to greatly reduce the stabilizing role these states are capable of playing within this volcanic region.  Such developments will in turn make it more difficult to assimilate the new Central Asian states into the international community, while also adversely affecting the American-dominated security of the Persian Gulf region.  In any case, both America and the international community may be faced here with a challenge that will dwarf the recent crisis in the former Yugoslavia.”  Brzezinski
